Aurelia's POV:
" 'Why try not to sin when Jesus already died for them? Doesn't that mean He died for nothing?' " Aurelia sat in her seat at church listening to her father's sermon. "That is a question I've heard many many times in my life. And each time, I gave the same answer" he looked out onto the people. "Picture this. You're going out with the friend who has stuck by your side your whole life. You're out having a good time when suddenly someone armed with a gun starts shooting all over. There's bullets flying, people screaming and it's chaos all over. Suddenly a bullet comes flying at your head."
"But your Best Friend flies in front of you, so you don't get shot. And instead of you thanking Him for risking his life for you, you punch Him right across the face." He gently closes the bible. "You wouldn't do that. The shooter represents the devil, the bullets are sin and temptation. God is your friend getting shot for you. He did that so we could have eternal life in heaven with Him. So instead of refraining from sin just to make it out of hell, do it to thank Him."
Beckham's POV:
The blonde twisted the key in the keyhole and slid inside the front door. "You! Where've you been?" His father shouted. "I-I just stayed over at my friend's place. It was late and I-" his dad cut him off "Do I look like I care? Look at this place!" He pointed to all the empty beer bottles scattered all over. "Didn't I tell you to clean this up" he shouted at his son. Before Beckham could stop himself, he screamed at the man "Why don't you clean it up? It's your mess. Why don't you get up and do something useful for once?"
Beckham's eyes widened in fear after he realized what he'd said. Mr. Ellis' face turned red with rage a he slammed his son into the wall. "YOU THINK YOU CAN TALK TO ME LIKE THAT?!?" he grabbed one of his beer bottles and smashed it against Beckham's head. Thick red liquid oozed out from the laceraction on his forehead. His breath became heavy. Another beer bottle came whirling at him. He dodged it by and inch and it shattered into a million tiny pieces. Glass and blood was smeared all over the wooden floorboards. "Now clean up this mess and go straight to your room."
