Two friends were drinking some warm tea as they were having a serious discussion.

The woman with long ginger hair sighed, she was feeling very frustrated.

"I swear, sometimes William makes me want to choke him to death." She said, anger filled in her voice.

"Just last week he hit Elizabeth simply because she went into his office while he was working! What kind of father does that to his own child?!"

She placed her cup of tea down before continuing.

"He says his ways are necessary to discipline the children, but it's just straight up abuse! And no matter how many times I tell him to stop 'disciplining' them that way, he never listens!"

She let out another sigh.

"I'm sorry for venting out to you like this Dia, but I appreciate you listening to me." She said to her friend.

"You don't need to apologise Adeline, I'm glad I can help you let out your emotions. Plus you have every right to be mad." Dia responded.

She took a sip of her tea before continuing.

"As you said, you've told him countless of times to stop treating the children that way, and yet he never learns. I too would be furious if I was in your situation."

Adeline looked at her friend, feeling very grateful for her sympathy.

"I really just want to divorce him and take the kids with me, but I don't have anywhere else to go." Adeline said, feeling very worn out about the situation.

Dia paused for a moment when she heard her say that. She seemed to think for a few seconds before she spoke.

"How about you bring them here?" Dia proposed.

Adeline looked surprised at the proposal.

"That's very generous of you but are you sure? Living with 3 kids isn't exactly easy, even when you aren't looking after them." Adeline replied.

Dia smiled at her.

"Don't worry, I don't mind. If I can get the kids away from someone who hurts them, then that's all that matters. Besides, one of them is mine..." Dia trailed off.

"Dia...." Adeline looked at her friend, sympathy filled her heart for her.

Dia placed her tea down.

"It's fine Adeline, you tried your best to take care of him and raise him for me, and that's all I could ask for. Since you are my friend helped me in my time of need it only makes sense for me to help you in yours."

A smile grew across Adeline's face.

"Thank you Dia.... I don't know what I'd do without you. Do you mind if me and the kids come over today? I just want to get them away from William as soon as possible."

"No, not at all. I don't have anything else to do for the day so mind if I come with you to pick them up?" Dia asked.

"I don't mind, it'd be nice to have some company on the way back home." Adeline replied.

They both got up and put on their coats, then headed out and walked down the concrete pavement.
