Part 3: The Flowers

It's a new day.

Test Tube had gone back to the graveyard, a jacket loosely draped over her arms to cover her from the cold and a shovel clenched in her hands. She has to get another person. She has to bring the most important ones back first. She stops in front of one of the graves, eyeing it curiously.

That's a lot of bluebells.

She starts to dig, accidentally ripping out most of the blue flowers in the process, eventually getting the body and rushing back to her lab as fast as she can. She doesn't wanna be seen doing this, it looks so horrible from an outward standpoint! Explanations are tough as is..

Once she gets to her lab, she sets him down onto her table. Poor Paper. His entire body was torn almost perfectly in half, and it was tough to tape back together. Half of a roll of clear tape later, and he's ready. There is one thing weird about it, though.

His corpse has a bluebell growing into the top. The roots are spread around his head.

She'll have to deal with that later. He's mostly normal anyways.

She sets the IV into his arm, loosely securing it with a bandage. He moves a lot, so this is necessary. She quickly head back to her control panel. Starting the machine has to be her least favorite part. Why did she have to be over-dramatic again? Nonetheless, she pulled the correct lever and the machine chugged, blowing steam everywhere, same as last time. She really hates that. It's very uncomfortable to sit in.

After a while of waiting for the machine to slow, and watching it do so, she shut it off and watched Paper's corpse closely. She begged and prayed for it to work as it did last time. Hope was in her mind. Hope for it to work.

A minute or two later, Paper shot upwards, coughing as he turned to face Test Tube. His eyes were white as well, same as Bomb. It seems to be a small side effect of the rebirth.

"How did I- How did I get here-??"

Test Tube smiled widely at that, which only made him more confused.
"I brought you back, Paper!! Aren't you happy? I do hope you're happy."

His face drops.
"What did you do. How am I back."

"I used science, of course. No need to thank me!"

"I'm just.. how?"
She smiles again, walking over to take the IV cannula out of Paper's arm. He flinches when she attempts.
"Please don't. I don't want to hurt more."

"It doesn't!"

"I've done things like this before, I know you're lying."

"It'll hurt less when it's out, I promise."
She reaches for the bandage wrap, undoing it and gently yanking the needle out, making him shiver. She places a small bandaid on it.
"Now was that so bad?"

"Yes. Very much so."

She rolled her eyes playfully at Paper's silliness. Just as she does that, he notices the bluebell, staring up at it.

"Is that a flower?"

"Hyacinthoides non-scripta."

He stared at her, confused. She waited a moment, expecting him to understand eventually.

"..A bluebell. That's the scientific name for a common bluebell."

He turns back to the flower, simply staring at it. He can't help but think about how coincidental this is. Bluebells are his favorite flower.

Suddenly, it hits him, and he starts to tear up.

"Woah, Paper, are you ok?? What's wrong??"

He doesn't know how to explain his thoughts, and he can't seem to get the words out. She wouldn't understand anyway. She wouldn't believe him.

But he knows who planted the bluebells.

He stands up and walks towards the exit, and Test Tube rushes to block his way.
"Where're you going??"

"...Home."

He pushes past her, knocking out some of her liquid onto the floor. She steadies herself, just barely being able to balance again in time. She sighs. What was that about? He just randomly started crying! She was very confused about that encounter.

As she was readying the table again to prepare for the next person, she got a text from Fan. Or, rather, from Bot, who was using his phone. She should really get them their own.

'mom therez zombiez :('
'dead guyz r back plz help'
'-bot'

She giggled as she read it, typing back to them.

'Don't worry, Bot! They aren't zombies, haha. I brought them back to life through the power of science! 😎🧪'
'They're pretty much the exact same as when they were alive, so fret not!'

She smiled at her phone, making sure that Bot didn't have any other things to say before stuffing it back in her pocket. She's so lucky to have a family like her's. What would she do without them?

Oh, shit, she forgot to finish preparing.

Almost an hour and a half later of unnecessary deep cleaning and preparation, she was finally ready to head out again! She walked out the exit of her lab, calmly heading back to the graveyard. She already knew who she had to pick, so she just had to find the grave.

There it was, right in-between Balloon and Bomb. Quite ironic.
