Natalie's pov:

I woke up to the birds chirping, nothing new. That's how it is every morning here in the Longbottoms residence, but today was a special day. I've been waiting for this day since gran ever told me about hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. I'm finally going, man, what house will I be sorted in? Will I make any friends? What if I don't like my classes? Will I get kicked out if I fail? Oh I hope I don't get detention, that sounds like a scary place. Could I possibly go into the dark forest? Hmm sounds like fun right there baby. Ouu wha-

My thoughts were cut short by a knock on my door.

"Come in!" I yelled over in case it's my gran, oh poor lady her hearing is terrible.

But to my surprise it was my baby brother, Neville. "Oh good morning, you're up quite early, come sit." I padded the free space on the bottom of my bed.

As he walked over he bumped into my desk making a few books fall to the floor.

"Oh dang it I'm so sorry sis, I-I-I didn't mean to, I -I just wanted to see you. Oh gosh I'm so sorry." He whined while picking up the books, but every book he picked up, he dropped immediately. It was kinda funny and it made me giggle a bit. "Stop laughing would you, please don't make fun of me!"

"Nev come here baby brother," I got off the bed and slid to the floor, he came over to me like I asked. "I'm not laughing at you, I never would. I'm laughing with you, so what a few books fell it's not the end of the world. Now sit on my bed please and tell me what's on your mind, you look worried."

He stood up and sat on my sunflower print blanket and started fiddling with the hem of my blanket. I also got up but I clenched up the little mess of books and also finished packing up some last minute things.

"Nat, I'm scared of you going, what if the other kids are mean to you, or what if when you go you don't write to me at all and you forget about me, or if you get caught up in the wrong crowd of people, or or or" he had tears running down his face, covering his cute chubby cheeks.

"Hey, one I can never forget about you, you mean the world to me, and I'll write to you every week, maybe even twice a week if I'm able to, but I can promise you this. I'm not going to end up with some crappy friends, now how about we go eat some breakfast before gran starts her yelling spree, yeah?" I expressed with a nod and smile, also wiping his wet cheeks.

He nodded as well and started to climb off my bed, but as soon as he planted both feet on the ground I picked him up with one of my famous bare hugs and squeezed the life outta him, once I felt he had enough love I finally put him down.

"I love but hate those hugs, but also. Tag you're it." And with that he ran outta my room. I'll admit I was a little shocked then ran after him.

"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU! DO NOT RUN IN MY HOUSE!" The painting on the wall shouted as I ran by. The painting is our grandfather, I never met him when he was a living person. But he would tell me stories of my mother and father all the time.

"Sorry gramps but this is very important!" I laughed back to him.

When I finally made it to the kitchen Neville was already halfway done with his short stack of pancakes, he had syrup running down his chin with a mouthful of the fluffy goodness.

"Eat like a gentleman Neville would you please! Oh good morning Natalie, eat up quick we're leave in 25 minutes. That means I want everything pack and you standing out ready to go in 23 minutes got it." She ordered with a stern finger pointing my way but all I could do was smile and nod. Gran always wants us to be out and ready before we leave, and she always has us be at least half an hour early. 'You can never be late if you're early, and if you're fifteen minutes early your late.' Is her most famous saying and I adore her for that.
