The walk to school wasn't long, it was quite short. Sitka High School looked big enough to fit all the kids, and maybe an extra hallway. Making her way through the parking lot, Birdie pulled out her schedule. She took a quick glance, noticing her first class was math. Fantastic. Not only was she going to school in a totally new place, but it was the middle of the semester. The first semester, but that wasn't the point.

Just as she was about to open the front door, a black haired boy approached her. His hair took on a shaggy look, hanging above his eyes. His skin was tan, with a strong nose and plump lips. His brown eyes were monolid. A small earring was hooked onto his right ear. "Hey, you must be Isla, right?"

"Uh, yeah, but I go by Birdie."

"Okay, cool. My name is Eddy. Eddy Yates. I'm part of the student body. If you need any help at all with anything, I'm here. Don't know your classes, I'm your guy. Struggle with math, I'm your guy. Need a date to prom, I'm your guy."

Birdie laughed, "Yeah, okay, thanks."

Walking into the school, Eddy began to blabber on about little things about sports, activities, teachers, and students. Fortunately, the bell rang, saving her from the non stop chatter. "Bye, Eddy."

"Bye, Birdie! See ya at lunch!" He shot her finger guns, before spinning on his heel, and continuing down the hallway. Entering the classroom, the ravenette handed her note to be signed to the teacher, before finding an available spot. Math moved by slowly, frying her brain more and more. Her misery ended when the class came to a close. She headed to her next class, which was Spanish.

Sitting down in an vacant seat, the teacher passed out a worksheet. The objective was to find an adjective for the picture presented, and write the decided answer next to it. The girl that sat next to her seemed overly confident. She had long brown hair that was styled in a half up half down look, green eyes, and a small face. Her eyes were rounded; a soft curve to her jawline, before ending sharply. Her nose was small too. The girl wore a green top that snuggly hugged her torso, bootleg jeans, and clean, pink high top Vans.

Noticing that Birdie had looked at her for more than a couple seconds, she turned with a smile. "Hi! I'm Jamie Simmons. What's yours?"

"Birdie Staton."

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Birdie."

The ravenette gave a nod, before turning back to her paper, only to see she had finished it. Just then the bell rang. Time for Biology II. The walk wasn't long, but as she approached the class room, she noticed a blonde boy staring at her. As he took note of her sudden acknowledgment, he made his way towards her.

"Hey! I'm Micah Norris. You're new, aren't you?"

Giving a nod, Birdie responded, "Yup. I'm Birdie Staton. It's nice to meet you." Micah gave a proud smile, before pointing at the English classroom with his thumb. "You got biology next?"

"Yeah."

"Cool. So do I."

As Birdie started the short walk to her next class, Micah rambled on about random things about himself. It was kinda annoying honestly.

Entering the room, the ravenette passed the note to her teacher, before finding an open seat. Which happened to be right next to Micah. Releasing a sigh, Birdie quickly moved to claim the window seat. A picture of different types of cells were sketched onto the board. Once the bell rang, the teacher began to go over the different kinds of cells and their purposes. Birdie took notes efficiently, though she had already taken the class in Georgia. I'm her peripheral vision, she noticed Micah was struggling to catch up.

The blonde turned to her. "This is boring, isn't it?"

Looking up, Birdie noticed his features more. He had a square face shape, blonde hair that messily curled randomly, blue eyes, and a strong nose. His features were defined, showing that puberty had been kind to him. He wore a baggy blue-gray sweater, dark jeans, and your typical black and white Vans with as many dirt smudges as you could fit on them.
