While my body was frozen my mine was running 100 miles a second, "pregnant" i quietly repeat as if the word was a myth or a foreign word I'd never say talking about myself, but now that was the only word i could think of now. My sister looked ecstatic but i wasn't as excited as her. Izek was the last one but how did this all happen without me noticing. Maybe my morning sickness was covered up by the disorder but how can i have kids when i was barely strong enough to run from my husband. I want to protect them but this is the wrong place to have kids because for 1 its going to be a battlefield and secondly i cant risk Izek finding them if he fights here.
Cecilia's pov
I know my face must look ecstatic .Which to most colleagues who dont know me is either concerning or a 1 in a million chance but i couldn't help it, my sister was going to have twins but my main concern is whether she wants them. I support my sister no matter what of course, but they're the last piece she has of him and i dont think she wants to loose that little connection. Ruby's face had gone pale and i started to worry for a second .She took a deep breath and sighed. I waited for her words, i waited for the right time to comfort her. I realised the doctor had left and i glance back to Ruby to see tears slowly dripping down her cheeks.
Ruby's pov
I felt a weight shift the bed and felt Cecilia slowly rubbing circles around my palm like she did when we were younger. She was one of the only ones that knew what cesare did to me as punishment and I just leaned into her embrace not realising the tears that I had been holding back fell and all she did was listen. I swear all my problems melt away when I'm with her just like when i was with Izek. Cecilia starts to talk in a soothing voice " Mum used to say that you cant stand for long periods of time so you might have to do paperwork for a while."

And thats what Ruby did for the next 4 and a half months. Sometimes on Ruby's breaks you could find her humming or even singing to the patients. The songs would vary from hometown songs to just random tunes she had heard from travelling. She was known so well by the soldiers that she even had a nickname made just for her aka "The canary".
6 years later She had twin boys and decided to name them zack and noah.
