Gabriel's POV

"Uhm, sure but just not here" I replied, maybe this party was'nt a total blow."I think I know a place just two blocks down the street" I told the man,who might he be?

"You think?"the man said with chuckle,he then continued"are you even from around here?"

"well not exactly, my parents and half of my siblings are politicians the rest are either lawyers or Judges, so I guess you could say I've been here for most of my life" I replied with a smile, trying not to make it sound so grim."I'm Gabriel by the way, Gabriel Paker" I said to the man while reaching out to him for a handshake, to say I was so taken with him that I even forgot to introduce myself would be an understatement.

Is that a hint of recognition in his eyes?hmm, he then reaches for my hand and while shaking our hands he replies "and my name is King, Daniel King" with such confidence, King isn't that?, thats when it hit me.Talk about moghuls, the King family were the leaders in waste management and recycling in the whole western hemisphere, this family has been paving the way to an inclusive civil scociety for the past 70 years.

"You're Victor's son." I said like it was some accusation, wich was not my intention, what can I say im a journalist and an accusatory tone comes with the qualification."I'm very sorry about your father, I mean sorry for your loss" I said, ahh this is getting awkward.

"Thank you, but I would much prefer we go get that drink now" he said, brushing the awkwardness off with his lovely smile, while we headed outside, that smile such a sight for sore eyes but he didn't look like he smiled often, then again he might be in mourning.

Just as we decended from the steps at the entrance, a convoy three black Range Rover Sport SUVs pulled up "That is my ride, just tell the drive where we're going and he will take us there in no time" Daniel said.

"I prefer to walk and enjoy the fresh air plus its not that far, thats if you dont mind" I said trying to convinced him that walking was better than a ride in a comfortable luxurious SUV

"Then we will walk" he said, we started walking out of the venue not before he said "I'm walking" to the huge guy waiting at the door of what i assumed was his car.

we walked down the street on the sidewalk and I could not help but admire this handsome man with a refined appearance and a graceful taste in style and there was also this dark auora around him that's so intoxicating.

"I've heard alot about your family, you know the great things that you guys do around the world are just incredible" I said trying to start a conversation.

"Thanks, and I also know about your family and the work they are doing in the country is exemplary, I've also heard about you but I have to say you are not at all what people say, then again who is?"

"You've heard about me?" was all I could mutter.

"I hope that doesn't suprise you, you are a Paker after all" he replied with that smile that lit up his face.

"Wait but you said you are disappointed, what is that all about" I asked him wanting to know more about the things being broadcasted about me in the filthy halls of power.

"Well theres a tale about the Paker family and all their righteousness and good deeds then there is this one Paker, the youngest one to be precise, apparently he is a headache, tormenting lawmakers in the halls of congress, scolding billionaires everytime they cross paths on vacation, some say his tactics so uforgiving that he was even banned from Weddel Island for the next five years" he said with a smile but this time the smile was laced with mischief.

" It really is a shame that the world's richest people cannot take accountability, all I do is ask questions but somehow me asking questions is not only a bad thing but also seen as a betrayal because I have access, I mean shouldn't people who have access actually be asking the questions?" I said. why is it that I am expected to show preference to people just because we are in the same tax bracket? where is the dignity?

"Hence the word disappointment, you seem like benevolent guy so keep up the good work" Daniel said, wich honestly made me feel appreciated, but I swear that car has been following us.

"Not to sound paranoid or anything but I think that car has been following us for a while now, dont look" I said to Daniel trying to remain inconspicuous.

"I have an idea, just play along" he replied, he then turned around and gave me the most gentle of kisses and I felt my heart skip a beat, his soft yet firm lips were warm and he tasted like cinnamon and citrus with a hint of bourbon. To say the feeling is euphoric would be an undestatemet, it was tentative and soul soothing too.

[well, well, well, and there we have it people, but who is following them around? and what does Daniel think about this 'Kiss'?]
