Bloodletting

It's not often that the whole family gathers together like this, especially when it's not because the world is ending. Damian supposes that it's no surprise that it took his father getting married for everyone to actually take time out of their busy schedules. It's the day after the wedding, and after a busy dinner, the family had retired to the cinema room. As Selina is now the newest member of the family, she got to pick the movie.

Damian's never been a movie buff, and while the movie she had picked is action packed, Damian can't seem to reel himself into it. It's been a rough week and Damian has barely gotten a wink of sleep, so it's not long before finds himself slumped against his eldest brother's shoulder.

He'd normally never display such affection with so many people around, but he's too tired to care. The noises and voices from the movie help serve as a sort of white noise. Before long he no longer feels himself present as he's slipped into a black void.

It's not long before the void is replaced. Damian finds himself on a roof, Batman stands next to him. He's Robin now. He backs up from the ledge before rushing towards it at full speed. He leaps off and lets himself fall for a moment. Before he knows it, he's grappling through the city at Batman's side.

Before long the rest of the family joins them and they're flying, not grappling, but flying through the air. At some point someone grabs him by the wrist and pulls him to them while the others go off without him. He's more than content as he turns to find Dick. And suddenly, Dick is no longer Nightwing, he's Batman.

Him and Dick are entering the Batcave only to be met with food from Alfred. Alfred offers him a vegetarian sandwich, and he offers Dick the biggest bowl of cereal he'd ever seen. It's such a ridiculous thing, but Damian can't help but smile at the familiar comfort of it all.

All of a sudden, he's tapped on the shoulder and he's turning around to find his mother with open arms. Damian blinks for a moment, so she takes it upon herself to hug him. And Ra's is there, watching them. And it all just feels wrong somehow.

"I am so incredibly proud of you Habibi." His mother says, pulling away from the hug, though she continues to hold his shoulders. As she said, her expression holds pride and maybe even love. Something about it feels wrong, but Damian allows himself to smile. "You've done it. You've achieved what we all thought impossible. I am so proud of you." Talia expresses with admiration as she wraps him into a hug once more.

"What?" He inquires, and he's growing more concerned with the feeling that something is wrong. And he suddenly realizes that he's covered in blood. His mother pulls back and turns him around.

The sight he's met with leaves him frozen and his ears begin to ring. He hardly notices his mother step over into the scene, she picks up a severed head and tosses it to him. Against his better judgment, he instinctively catches it. He looks down to gaze upon the detached head of Tim. He drops it and falls back, he doesn't scream, but his breathing picks up in pace.

He looks back to the scene of multiple dead bodies, and he's suddenly stricken with memories of it all. And suddenly he's himself, but he's not. He's smirking menacingly upon this large, powerful man lying beneath him, his expression incredulous as Damian slices through his head.

Now he's before a man almost as big, and he's piercing his heart, and Red Hood doesn't see it coming. And Spoiler finds them, and she won't let him get away with this, and she's in tears. He can tell she doesn't really want to hurt him, but he killed her brother.

For some reason he takes pride in her pain, in the betrayed look in her eyes. She puts up a good fight, but Damian laughs as he cuts her arm off. She's losing blood fast, and she looks exhausted and she asks him why. He doesn't respond. She tells him that she loves him. He cuts the rest of her limbs off. She dies of blood loss. He flees the scene before the others come.
