I think this ship is really cute. How in the anime he always cares for Mairin. Especially when her chespin falls into a coma. After overhearing her converstation with Lysandre. How he was like "i promise I'll make you smile again" (or something like that) But... I do think of their love as a brotherly and sisterly love more then a actual love interest.
