My HOT Memorable Summer

CHAPTER 1

ANGELO'S POV

THE PAST FEW WEEKS has been so tiring and challenging at the same time due to the end term requirements in my classes and because of the final examinations but I'm so excited now because after almost three long months of trying to fix myself and be a better person so I could be with the person I love, I'm traveling to Baguio for summer tomorrow. I already asked my parents for permission to stay with my Lola and they actually didn't mind, as usual, but my cousin is coming down to fetch me.

Sasabay si Lemuel sa amin sa pag-akyat kasi taga-Baguio siya at kya lang siya nag-aaral dito sa Manila ay dahil sa full scholarship sa kanya. Nakilala ko siya nung enrollment palang for our first semester and then nakaklase ko siya sa ilan sa mga subject ko kaya nakagaanan ko siya agad ng loob and eventually naging magkaibigan kami. Sa kabila ng pagiging basag-ulero ko, mayabang, at absinero sa klase, lagi naman niya akong inaalalayan at pinagsasabihan kaya when I decided to change to win my girl back, parang mas madali kasi napakaganda niyang impluwensya sa akin. I'm done preparing my needs for my Baguio escapade, double-checked it and everything is good to go. I didn't get any clothes because I decided to just buy in Baguio so I just made sure that my gadgets and my credit cards as well as my important IDs are present. I'm carrying just a small North Face back pack. I prepared all these so I won't be rushing tomorrow, though there's really nothing to rush. Lemuel taught me that.

I was about to get to bed after having a shower because I'm not going to eat when I heard someone knocking on my door. I found my nanny when I opened the door informing me that Aiden already arrived and that he's waiting in the dining area.

Aiden is my closest cousin because we grew uo together in the States until they decided to move back to the Philippines when we were 8. Our communication wasn't cut despite of the distance, thanks to the social media. I'm not so sure though if we're still going to be close since we haven't seen each other for more than a decade. Aiden is the only son of Tita Ellise, the only sister of my mom, but he has three sisters and he is the youngest.

"Hey, insan, kumusta na?" Aiden greeted while I was approaching sabay abot sa kanyang kamay at nagshake hands kami na parang bunong braso with a hug. "It's good to finally see you in person after almost a decade."

"I'm great, insan. It's nice seeing you too." I said smiling. "I was about to hit the sack because I don't want to eat alone when Yaya told me you arrived. Did you have your dinner already?"

"Insan, tingin ko kailangang matuto kang managalog kasi mabebenta ka sa Baguio niyan." Aiden said chuckling while we were going to the dining area. Pagkapasok naming ay handa na rin ang mesa for dinner. "Lola was worried that you might get lost along the way if you drive alone kaya pinababa niya ako buti na nga lang at wala akong pasok bukas eh."

"Ah, pasenxa na sa abala insan ah and thank you really for coming." Sabi ko. I joined Aiden for dinner and we had a lot of catching up while eating kaya napuno ng kwentuhan at tawanan ang usapan. Buti naman kasi akala ko talaga magiging awkward kasi antagal din naming hindi nagkwentuhan ng personal eh. I've been here in the country for almost a year pero I really didn't have the interest to go to Baguio during our short vacations, I didn't need it.

BAGO KAMI TUMULOY NG Baguio, dinaanan muna namin si Lemuel sa dorm nila kasi malapit lang naman iyon sa subdivision namin saka kami dumiretso ng Baguio. While on the road, tuloy lang ang kwentuhan at tawanan namin habang ako'y kumukuha ng mga picture sa daanan. Naging comportable naman agad sa isa't-isa sina Aiden at Lemuel kaya walang na-out-of-place and they also kept on teasing me to talk in Filipino and understand Ilocano or plain Filipino so I won't be out of place in Baguio at para daw hindi ako maibenta. Tinuruan nila ako ng mga Tagalong and Ilocano words at tsaka pinagtatawanan dahil daw sa 'twangy' accent ko.
