As Riley zipped her pants, her mom asked her a question with such enthusiasm that she could've barfed right there and then, "Guess what?!"
"What?" she replied, clearly not interested in the subject one bit.
"Wallace is transferring to your school!" Charles said.
"Is that supposed to be exciting?" she thought while poking a tomato with her fork.
"It'd be great if you can show him around and it's a great way for you guys to bond!" her mom added, completely oblivious to Riley's feelings about it.
Due to her own shock, she almost choked on a potato. "Great, just great! Why me?! I don't want to be his baby sitter!" she thought. Just to please her mom and the crowd, she sarcastically smiled. Of course, as she expected, everyone was completely oblivious to her feelings. Maybe, not.
Skye suddenly barked below her. "It's just you and me, bud. It's just you and me." she thought as she petted Skye on the head. "Well, excuse me but I'm SUPER full and I really CAN'T take another bite so I'll just be heading upstairs and doze off." she lied and headed upstairs.
The truth honestly sickened her. "Charles is okay but Wallace... Just another pest. I just don't like him at all. There's something off about him..." she thought. Finally, she jumped on her bed and crossed her arms to support her head. She stretched a little to get comfortable. Then, she started with her game plan. "Okay, so, Summer hasn't ended yet. Another month separates me from the humiliation of being seen with him. Hmm, maybe, I'll just ditch him? I feel like that little brat would tell. Then again, I can make him hate me, if he doesn't already. I don't know, I'd just rather sleep." she thought and with one final yawn, she dozed off.
Her phone woke her up. It was an anonymous number so she just shrugged it off and went to the bathroom. She washed her face and told her little brother to scram when he was about to enter the bathroom. As you can see, Riley isn't really in a good mood. She's still bitter about it and she can surely hold a grudge.
However, the anonymous number proved to be someone she knew after really looking into the sent message. "Call me Ace for short." it read and Riley almost lost it. She screamed as much as her throat would let her and swore that she'll never forgive her Mom. "How can you just give away your daughter's number to some stranger?" she aggressively thought.
As planned, she got dressed in a tank top and shorts. It was pretty hot so that whole get-up as a guy was not going to work and she was not intending to go to her hang out today. She wasn't even in the mood for that. Riley's completely out of it. She just wanted to be alone in the park and swing until she forgets all about it. There's something about the wind hitting your face and how the pendulum swing of the swing can make you feel all better and refreshed.
However, her means of escape was soon interrupted when she opened the door and saw Jay standing in front of it, almost about to knock. Due to her shock, she froze. It took a second for her to react and ask, "What are you doing here, idiot? How in the world did you get my address? You better not be pulling that stalker-shit with me or I'll knock you out even colder than the first one."
