The Candy Mystery! (Halloween 2023)

Valli walked through the city towards the Capsule Corp. building, humming happily to herself.

It didn't matter to her that it was becoming darker by the moment. It was already October 29th and besides, she liked the dark sky.

She was invited over by Cori to stay for two nights. The conversation was short and simple, Cori talking about how they'll have fun together and they'd be trick-or-treating two days after. She could already feel herself get excited as she skipped towards the building.

'My costume is pretty scary this year...I bet he'll be scared of it!' She grinned, adjusting the bag on her back.

When she found herself in front of the Capsule Corp. building, she walked towards the door. Being happy to see her friend, she didn't hesitate to knock.

It was awfully silent and nobody answered.

"Hello?" Valli knocked again and was confused. "Hello? Hello~?"

"I want to answer the door!" Someone yelled from the other side.

"Stop it for a second!" Another snapped back and sounded annoyed. "What if it's not anyone we know? You'd scare them off!"

"That doesn't sound like Cori..." Valli muttered and tried knocking again. "Hey, let me in!"

The door opened and she instantly saw Cori. "Hey, Valli! Just give us a second!"

"What's happening?"

"Valli! Valli, Valli, Valli!" Looking over Cori, Android 1 was waving at her. "Hi!"

"Stop it!" Perci came from behind but after seeing the girl, he stopped. "Ah. It's just you, Valli."

"If I wasn't someone you knew, I'd be scared." Valli took a step back and looked at them all. "Terrified, actually. What's she doing here?"

"She felt like staying here...unfortunately...but what brings you here? I hope it's something important."

"I'm spending the night with Cori for two days until Halloween."

"We're going trick-or-treating!" Cori sounded like he just remembered it. "I'm so excited!"

Android 1 paused for a second and tilted her head. "What? What's that?"

"What's what?"

"Halloween? I've never heard of it before."

"Neither have I until now." Perci admitted, crossing his arms. "Assuming it's a holiday, the Clan had no time for stuff such as this."

"Mahi really was awful." Cori commented but then shook his head. "Anyways, it's just a day when you dress up and go door to door getting candy!"

"It's a fun holiday!" Valli assured them with a grin. "Maybe you guys can come with us!"

Perci twitched his eyebrow and put up a hand. "Sounds childish."

"But people can think you're dressed up as a wolf! It'd be a good time to go out!"

"No."

"I want to do it!" Android 1 shoved past him with her hands up. "It sounds fun! I want to do it!"

"That's great!" Valli was excited and got an idea. "We can get even more candy!"

"I'll give it to you guys! I swear!"

"That's great!"

"Please hurry up and get inside." Perci gestured to them and was already walking off. "I still have things to work on."

"I want to help!" Android 1 followed close behind him. "Please!"

"Let's go to my room real quick." Cori started to run off, Valli right behind him after she closed the door.
