Walking through the forest was calming to my senses; I could smell the sap still lingering on the tree limbs, my nose eager for more. I felt the mossy Earth path squish beneath my feet, where every now and then I would reach a spot where the Sun would shine through the opaque leaves, beating down on my pale skin. Reaching up to the palm sized rocks, pulling myself up farther with each rock I grabbed. I could hear the ocean as I got closer to the end of the forest, crawling out to the grassy ledge, feeling the breeze caress my long brown hair. Sighing as I took it all in, feeling safe, thrilled, and warm as the Sun continued to beat down on me. Leaning over the edge, to see nothing but waves crashing against the tall cliff, placing my feet over the very tip, so that if I were to lean out any farther, I would fall.

"Wherefore art thou now, my Romeo?" I let a smile beam across my face but only for a second, then I reminded myself why I was here. Leaning forward slightly, letting my last moments of life tick away. What a waste.

A shoulder lifting, ear drum piercing scream reached my ears, making them ring, "Nakita! Get away from the cliff now!" I didn't need to turn around to recognize whose voice it was uncovincingly trying to lure me from the edge.

"I can't do that Noah," my eyes began to tear as I slowly turned to face him.

"Why can't you do that Nakita? I'm right here, just walk towards me," his voice hallow like he would do when he was serious, soft and mellow but, he was only trying to be that way for me. Then did I see the wire hat ran up the vest he had worn to school today, to an ear piece that had been quickly placed in his ear. He took a step towards me and I took a step back for the fear of falling before saying what needed to be said,

"Noah?"

"Yes Nakita, what is it?" he said almost immediately, his voice cracking.

"Remember when you used to sneak in through my bedroom window and we'd just sit on my bed with a bag of gummy worms and talk?"

"And how we used tp get into gummy worm battles,"

"And my parents would walk into my bedroom the next morning and wonder why there we gummy worms everywhere ," At that moment I realized the reason I was jumping, not for myself but for Noah, to save him.

"Anyway Noah," I said, looking down at the blades of grass, crystal tears falling from my eyes," I want you to remember me like that, not like this,"

"I will Nakita; I promise that when the time truely come for you to die I will remember who you were. But now? Now's not that time Nakita. You have so much to live for so much to see," My knees buckled at the sound of his voice saying my name, so beautiful that him taking a stead towards me almost passed my mind.

But I was here for a reason, "One more thing Noah?"

"Nakita don't!" he said as he started towards me,

"I love you," then feeling weightless as I leapt from the cliff.
