After what seemed like forever, we reached a house. It's covered with vines and trees and looks like a vintage two or three storied house. "Christian what is this?"
"It's my house. I come here whenever I want to get away from everything."
I look over at him as he unbuckles his seatbelt. He starts walking to my side and opens my door for me. I get out, stretching. "It's beautiful."
He leads me to the door with his hand on my back, which makes me feel weird but in a good way. He takes out his keys and unlocks the door. As he opened the door, more of the interior gets revealed. "Oh, my, god. Christian, seriously, this is beyond amazing," I turn around and face him.
"Want a tour?"
I shake my head.
After thirty minutes, the tour finally ended with us ending up on the third floor, in Christian's bedroom. "At this point I wouldn't be surprised if you own every house there is in the world." He chuckles and puts his hands in his pockets. We were only a few inches apart and we held eye contact. He kept looking at me from my eyes to lips. Eyes to lips. Eyes to lips. Just as we were closing the space between us, sirens started to blare. We immediately break apart and he clears his throat, "So, are you hungry?" I nod and we go downstairs into the kitchen.
"Mrs. Indra, this is Charlotte White." She looks over at me and smiles, "Hi Ms. White, you can call me Jackie."
"Hi Jackie." I shake her hand as I can feel Christian looking at me.
"Mrs. Indra, we're ready for dinner." She nods as we walk over to the dinner table. It's much smaller than the other one. Jackie comes over, putting plates, napkins and forks, knives, and spoons on the side. She then puts down wine glasses and pours wine into it. "Thank you," I whisper. She smiles and nods and goes away.
"So, how long are we staying here?" I ask, sipping the wine.
"We're flying back tomorrow night, why?"
"Well, my friend has a art gallery showing on Monday and that brings me to my next question," Jackie comes by with the food and starts serving it to us, "I need a date for Thursday. I was wondering if you want to come? It's fine if not."
"Sure Anastasia, I'll be your date."
I smile, biting my lips ever so slightly, "Thank you."
Jackie finishes putting the food on our plates and leaves to the kitchen. Using the knife and fork, I dug into the steak. Never have I ever tasted such good steak before. I could get used to this.
"So who's this friend of yours?" Christian asks after finishing his bite of steak.
I was mid way of eating the steak and swallowed it before I spoke, "Garrett, why?"
His face clearly changed into a more of a jealous face which made me laugh inside. "No reason." He says.
After finishing our steaks, we walked and paused by the kitchen, "Hey Jackie, the food was amazing." I say with a smile.
"Thank you Ms. White."
"Jackie, you may have the rest of the night off." She nods and leaves the area as we continue to walk.
"So, have you always been interested in english?" Christian asks.
"Yeah, all my childhood I've been buried in hundreds of books and I still read of course but just not as much as I did before," I look over at Christian who's completely oblivious, "Christian, fuck, your nose, you're bleeding."
Christian puts his finger underneath his nose, "Shit."
We walk over to the kitchen and I grabbed paper towels. "Here, lean your head back." He did as I told as I put the paper underneath his nose.
"I'm fine." He says.
"I know you are but I don't care."
After two minutes of me holding the paper, I go to throw it away. "Thanks," I turn around, startled to see Christian inches away from me.
"You're welcome," I whispered so quietly, he probably didn't hear me. He starts to move a tinier bit closer looking from eyes to lips. Eyes to lips. Over and over again. Suddenly Christian's lips crash into mines.
