Day One
Erik wants to be a priest... and then he meets Aia.
There is no greater dream for Erik Rocasolano than becoming a priest. There were no other options—as a child, he was called, and now as an adult, he must respond. But life didn't come easy; he had to go through hell and back just to be finally settled in a diocese with a supportive bishop who promised ordination and acceptance as long as he proves his worth well.
At some point while waiting for his chasuble, he meets Ananya Sinha. Aia is different from all the people he's met: she's somewhat rude towards the clergy but holds big hopes for young priests-to-be. She claims to hate the world, yet in small ways, she does a lot to change it. She admits to slowly losing faith in God, but she holds onto Him more than anyone else in the room—even Erik himself.
Aia is a walking list of contradictions... and a natural wonder. Naturally, he wanted to be her friend. And for years, she's become his.
They are good friends, nothing more.
So why did he stop coldly in his tracks when he saw her smiling face during his presbyteral ordination?
