Japan

"Come on! It'll be fun!" Celine said, pulling Vind by the arm outside the house. It had been two weeks since their confrontation with Eido, whom they assumed was dead. They had been living in Japan, in Akari's neighborhood. A small city called Ladolan. The reason Celine was brutally dragging Vind out the door was that each year Akari's city hosts a festival. Most of the Union was tired of hiding and wanted to have some fun. Vind still felt something was off about their new home, but in the end, he was forced to join the team. By the time they got there, most of the team was already off doing their own thing. Sabo somehow found a goddamn shooting range, with whom he was competing with a 6-year-old. "I don't trust Vind. Celine, watch him." Alexi said. Celine started to protest, but Alexi was already going to attempt to stop Pola from stealing a pug. Celine turned to Vind, who simply said "No." and walked away. "Really?" Celine said as she followed behind him. Everyone was having a good time, but Vind felt something was off still. That's when he saw him. A man holding a knife in the crowd. With a blink, he was gone. Vind stood in the middle of the stream. He was frozen until Celine grabbed his arm, pulling him to the side. "You good?" Celine asked, and Vind nodded. He must've thought the guy was there. Nobody could move out of plain sight that quickly. "Good, because I'm starving!" Celine said, dragging Vind over to a restaurant. Vind couldn't shake the idea of the man, even when Celine and his food arrived. "Hey lighten up!" Celine said. Vind couldn't help but smile. Something about Celine felt different to him. He felt how he did before the war took everything from him, before Serenity. Before anything could happen though, a gunshot rang through the building, and a figure started running. "Oh no, you don't!" Vind said, jumping out of his chair and chasing after him. They ran out of the building and Vind was able to tackle the person. It was the man he saw earlier. "What the hell man!?" He yelled. That's when a tough hand grabbed Vind and threw him back into the building, locking the door behind him. "Sorry, but I got a date with Romeo." The man said. He recognized his voice. This was Jaden. The most world-renowned assassin. "Ta ta!" He left them, leaving a timed explosive behind him. The clock ticked 3. "GET BACK!" Vind yelled. 2. Vind ran. 1. The whole diner blew up as rubble crushed him to the floor.

Alexi heard the boom before it even rang out. All the dogs around him scattered, except for the one Pola was holding. Akari ran up to them, alongside Sabo and Romeo. A fire broke out in the diner, and inside it, Vind dragged others out from the rubble. "Celine? CELINE?!" Vind yelled. He heard a small grunt under some broken tables, and he ran to them. He pushed them to the side and found Celine curling around a small child. The child was awake, but Celine was passed out. "Oh god," Vind said. He reached into the debris, pulling out Celine and the small kid. The small kid ran to her father. "Celine, are you okay?" She didn't wake up. That's when another fire burst into the room. Nobody would make it out alive if he didn't do something now. He reached behind his back and whipped out his machete. "Everyone follow me!" He yelled. He would have to come back for Celine. He maneuvered through the diner to the back areas and found a small backdoor. He raised his machete and sliced through the door, and then casually kicked it open. After everyone went through it, he ran back to get Celine. That's when he saw something he would never forget.

Within the smoke, a man walked through. He wore a brown coat with overalls under it. He held a small knife and a much larger one in both hands. Romeo knew him almost automatically. "Jaden!" Romeo growled. Jaden grinned. "You are a fucking traitor." He pointed a knife at him. Romeo chuckled. "You want to know who the real traitor is?" He asked. "The truth is, he's you," Jaden growled and lunged. Romeo jumped out of the way. The knife sailed over him and pierced Akari. Her scream ripped through the noise and wind. Jaden turned around as Alexi entered. Alexi pulled out a piece of debris. He aimed for Jaden, who rolled. Alexi missed and Romeo jumped back, avoiding the projectile. Jaden cursed and fired his weapon at Alexi. Alexi stood his ground and dodged the gun. The next shot, however, grazed Alexi's shoulder. The gun fell from Jaden's grip, and he ran out of the way, barely avoiding another shot. Romeo jumped at Jaden. He wrapped his arms around him, stopping his progress. Romeo raised the knife and pressed it to Jaden's throat. Jaden's eyes went wide, but he grinned. "Let's have some fun!" He pushed Romeo off him and tackled Alexi into the debris. Alexi let out a high-pitched shriek as his body hit the debris. He held his hand to his shoulder. It was bleeding. Romeo raced out of the hole, knowing he had to act quickly to save Alexi. He fired one round into Jaden's chest. Jaden howled and punched him in the face. He fell to the ground, knocked out. Jaden turned to the injured Alexi and raised his gun. "I win." He growled. "ALEXI!" Vind yelled as he burst from the diner, Celine in his arms. Jaden grinned, cocking his firearm. He fired.
