Cursed Village

Chapter 1

Arga, Sandra, Riki and Dara, they are final year students at Gajah Mada University. They will carry out community service duties in a village located in East Java. This village is a remote village and is in the middle of the forest. They left for the village in the afternoon. It was getting dark, they had now entered the dark and quiet forest.

In the middle of the journey, Arga suddenly felt something strange, but Riki tried to calm Agra down. In between Riki trying to calm Arga, Dara heard a strange sound coming from the forest. But strangely only Dara's can hear the sound. Dara said to her friends, "Did you hear a strange sound coming from the forest there?". His friends answered "no". Riki said "what are you listening to?". Dara answered "I heard a voice like someone was calling my name from inside the forest". Then Riki said "Maybe it's just your feelings dar". Dara answered "yes, I think so". Riki said to his friends, "You have to stay calm and think positively because we are about to reach the village".

The four of them had arrived at the village they were going to. They went straight to the house they were going to live in. They entered the house and looked at the rooms in the house. Then they entered their respective rooms. It was getting late, they were gathering at the dining table for dinner. They ate while talking about the village they were visiting. "The local residents in this village say that every time a small child is born, they are immediately killed to take their skin," said Dara. Arga said "you are right dar". Dara "Is that true or not, it's said because this village has a curse that means newborn babies are sacrificed to take their skin and make them into shadow puppets. If the sacrifice is as desired by the curse then the curse in this village will disappear." Sandra "but it's really a shame that the baby was just born and was immediately killed, it's a shame for the parents too". Dara "keep hearing that there is a way to remove the curse in this village, but there is only one person who knows and he is the puppeteer who plays the wayang". Agra said "we have to go there, we have to remove the curse in this village so that no more babies die as sacrifices". Riki said "What if we finish eating there?". Dara answered "yes". Arga "yes". Sandra "I'll just follow". Riki "Okay, that means we'll finish our meal first, then we'll go straight there".
