A woman passes by, carrying newborn twins which made me whine as Phoebe commented, "Oh, look, twins. Hi, guys. Oh they are so cute."

"No fair! I don't even have one and they get two?!?"

"Y/n you're 24, there's no way you could possibly want a kid. But I'll tell you what, when we're 40, if neither of us is married, you and I could have one."

"Why won't I be married when I'm 40?"

"Oh, no, no. I just meant hypothetically."

"Ok, hypothetically, why won't I be married when I'm 40?"

"No, no, no-"

Smirking internally, I retaliated, "What is it? Is there something fundamentally unmarriable about me?"

"Uh, uh-"

Trying to contain my laugh, the poor guy walked right into my trap. And just when I was about to say something, he spoke,

"Dear god! This parachute is a knapsack!"

And with that, he threw himself over the back of the chair he was sitting in. Shaking my head, I chuckled and told him to come back, patting his now empty seat.

The time came soon where the baby was born and we soon huddled in the room to play with him, often making faces and cooing.

Ross decided to stay with Carol, Susan and Ben while everyone else stood at the hospital's front gate ready to go home. Walking in the opposite direction, I was stopped by Phoebe who asked,

"Hey, the house is the other way, why are you going there?"

"Oh, I actually came here in a haste and forgot a few files which I was thinking of bringing home. So I'll just work there and come back or if I fall asleep, then I'll wake up, do my task that needs to be done and then come home for a shower! So see you guys later! Bye!"

And with that, I run-walked for a while before looking around to get a cab. Taking support of a nearby pole, I removed my footwear from one of my legs and rubbed the red spot carefully. Suppressing a groan when massaging my ankle.

Only a handful people were present, street lights giving the area an ominous look as I ruffled my hair. Looking around, I spotted a vending machine, inserting the coins I was about to press the respective button when another finger beat me to it and a cold vanilla latte dropped down.

Closing my eyes in resignation, I whispered with much hate, "Chandler."

Turning to face him, I saw him leaning against the rectangular good for nothing box, popping the can and running a hand through his hair while taking a sip.

For a moment, I actually got mesmerised, from the way the moonlight reflected on his face in the dark to the way his moist lips moved to form a sentence I totally ignored, I was star-struck.

Snapping his fingers in front of me, I got out of the trance he put me in and looked in his gorgeous dazzling blue eyes which were filled with guilt. Wait, guilt?

"Hey, listen, I- uhh, I'm uh- I'm sor-"

Encouraging him to speak, I finally thought he would apologise for what happened between us back then. Say that it was stupid of him to say that we pretend as if the other never really existed. But what he said next was definitely surprising.

"-ly in love with Hannah! Yup! I'm surely most definitely in love with Hannah."

"Uh- what?"

He froze, looked to the side which cast a shadow on his face making me unable to see his expressions when he turned around again and repeated,

"I'm positive I'm in love with Hannah, your friend. The one from the holiday. Think you can set me up?"

With every word, I could see him visibly wincing but I chose to ignore that and answered,

"Um sure? But I don't think she'll reciprocate the feeling because she's kinda infatuated with Joey."

Pretending to be hurt, he continued, "Oh, Oh wow. Well, I will step back. Afterall, I'm a word of my man. Wait no, I'm my man of a word. Wait-"

My giggles cut him off which soon turned to laughter. Wiping the tears away from my eye, I yet again failed to notice his gaze. Settling down, I got another can from the machine and began walking to the company.

"So, what are you doing here? Weren't you the one complaining about going home the whole time?"

"Well, how could I, a gentleman, leave you, a damsel, in such a lonely street?"

"You are the type to run at the face of danger Bing."

"I'm offended that you would even think that."

"Remember the time when we were going to the amusement park? You ran away leaving me to deal with those jerks by myself."

"I'm sorry but this-" pointing at his face, he continued, "-is perfection. I'd be damned before I ruin it for anyone."

"Not even for your friends?"

"I'd do anything for those guys..."

He whispered those words but I heard them. And when I did, it brought a small smile to my face which I was quick to replace with a nonchalant look.

Walking in silence, we reached my office with him tailing behind me. The paper scattered everywhere, desk a total mess, blinds still open, and a food container kept near the desk lamp with a sticky note attached to it.

"I couldn't find you when I came back so I left the food here. Make sure to eat it and don't stay up late. P.S. it's your favourite. Smiley face," read Chandler.

Snatching the note from him, I took the dinner. Smiling in content as heat rushed to my face before stating, "It must be from Matt. We were going to eat dinner together later on."

With raised brows, he looked at me expectantly,

"Oh, he's a friend from college. His name is Matthew but I call him Matt."

"How come I never got a nickname?"

"You did. I used to call you Chan or Chandlerino or Bing-a-ling or-"

"Ok, alright, I get it! But Mattao here gets a nice one and I get the garbage ones."

Walking towards him, who was standing near the window, I leaned closer to grab the blinds to close them while saying,

"They are called terms of endearment for a reason Bing," Looking in his eyes, his gaze flicked lower down my face before coming back up.

Pausing my movements, I feel my heartbeat increase at the distance between us as a stray strand of hair falls on his forehead. Moving it to it's original place, I backed away picking up my bag and continued, "Cmon, let's go. If we move now we can catch the bus. Otherwise we'd have to wait two hours before the other one comes."

Going out of the room, I wiped the sweat from my hands onto my outfit, clearing my throat and fanning my face to cool down as chandler emerged from the office after a few minutes, jogging to catch up to me with his ears slightly red.

With our hands occasionally grazing, the ride back home was one of silence. With his head resting on my shoulder, his soft snores filled the almost empty bus as I looked ahead and pondered over what just took place back there.

With his own issues and my workaholic arse, we could never really work out. We went out once and it's not like it ended well.

Maybe I should just remove the idea of settling down. Work is practically my life and it's the only thing I have ever really known.

Feeling arms wrap around my waist, I look down to see him burying his head further in my neck. Wrapping my arms around his figure, I ran my fingers through his hair, scratching the spot behind his ear which I knew he liked. Hearing a sigh of content coming out of his mouth.

Instead of wondering how to tackle these rising feelings, I leaned my head on top of Chandler's, cherishing the moment I was awarded with. Besides, it's not like he is the only man on the surface of the earth. I can always find someone else.

I have to...
