George follows Dream into the dark cottage, practically right at his heels. They have fun investigating together every time they go out, but there's always something so nerve wracking to George about initially walking into these places. Maybe it's because he knows what's inside, or maybe it's not, he doesn't know.Dream glances around the dark room, and George watches as his eyes narrow. "Is anyone in here? Hello?" He glances back to George and notices that he's shaking somewhat, glancing around, seeming very nervous. "Hey, you're not going to let the darkness scare you, are you?" He nudges, gently teasing him.
This earns Dream a head shake from George, and their eyes lock in the darkness. This just reveals that George looks even more scared than he did at first glance...but the shaking is really simply because he got a chill all of a sudden.
"You've known me for years, asshole, you know I'm not scared of the dark." George retorts with a roll of his eyes. Dream chuckles and nudges him again, then reaches into his pocket. "Here, let me light this." He pulls out a pack of matches, and lights one before he holds it in front of George's face. "Better?" He leans in, smirking.
George rolls his eyes again and blows the match out while he reaches into his back pocket and grabs his flashlight, shining it directly at Dream as soon as he has it in his hand. "They specifically said no open fires. Idiot." He says with a bit of sass in his tone.
The strong light of the flashlight makes Dream's eyes squint and he makes a face. "You didn't have to shine that directly in my eyes though." He complains, glancing around again. His gaze sweeps back over to George after a moment. "And so what? They're never going to know, it's fine." His smirk returns.
George snorts at the face Dream makes, and he shrugs as he redirects the flashlight to be shining across from them, sparing Dream's eyes. "The light makes you look all white and shit, like Jesus." He giggles before he starts to glance around as well, another chill running down his spine. "There's something here."
Dream glances over to the direction that George is shining the flashlight and then he chuckles. "Why would you say that?!" He nudges George again, smirking, then his expression falters as he senses something else in the room. "A-actually, there is something here."
"Yeah, I told you." George says with a roll of his eyes, but he immediately freezes up as a little girl comes into his area of vision, and he speaks to Dream without breaking the eye contact with the little girl. "Get the camera."
Dream doesn't hesitate. He quickly pulls out the camera they brought with them as he glances over to where the little girl is supposed to be. His head spins quickly from side to side as he checks if the little girl's presence is recorded on the camera, or if she's only visible to himself and George.
George doesn't know what to do, he simply stands in place with his eyes glued to the spirit. On the camera, the only thing visible is a small shadow that would be impossible to create from any living thing because of how dark the room already is. "Still a skeptic?" George mumbles to Dream, and he glances up at him for only a second.
A flash of shock runs over Dream's face upon seeing the shadow on the camera, and he quickly scans the entire room, the hair on his arms rising. "Oh. I'll be damned." He whispers, and then glances back over to George. "She's real. I thought you were just messing with me, but..." His voice trails off as he stares at the girl's spirit.
George can't help but slightly smirk at Dream's words, and he slowly kneels down as he reaches for their backpack. He pulls out a small doll that they'd picked up from the store before coming here, and he slides it across the floor over to the little girl.
