"that was in the past, alright?"

𝕐𝕆𝕌ℝ ℙ𝕆𝕍:

maybe i should message charlotte to take that post down. but then again, i doubt someone would like her would even listen to me. she would apologise, but keep it up regardless.

i think it's kinda crazy that she found out about this little game, considering that she found out about all of this before lyney did. and she somehow managed to bypass everything i had carefully set out.

i'm somewhat glad that i put that pin under those trees when i did. archons know how many pictures charlotte would take and post if i hadn't. she should really know how to mind her own business before it comes back to bite her.

something tells me that won't happen for a long time, though.

__________

"come on, guys. i was young and stupid back then! why are we talking about this now?" i felt my face starting to heat up.

they couldn't have picked a better time. could they?

navia and clorinde suddenly decided that they felt like teasing me about stupid things that happened at stupid times. it was absolutely embarrassing.

"young and stupid? wasn't that just a year or two ago?" clorinde raised an eyebrow.

"you know what i mean," i lazily glared at her, not having the energy to fight back at this time.

"don't you wonder if he's jealous? i mean, what if pa-"

i quickly cut navia off. "shh! what if someone hears you? i'll never hear the end of it from anyone!"

i was looking for an excuse to slip out of the conversation, but it was clear that the two were set on talking about this. i didn't feel like going through the whole situation again, but they did.

"y/n, you can't hide from it forever. you'll have to face it eventually." someone called out from behind the three of us.

i didn't need to turn around to see who it was, but i don't think i've turned around faster in my life.

thank archons, it wasn't the very person we were talking about. but behold - charlotte! the mastermind reporter! woah!!

"charlotte!" i ran up to her, and she had a bashful smile on her face. like an angel who hadn't done the slightest thing wrong.

i hadn't noticed it, but navia and clorinde had disappeared. they probably ran away to make out or something. they always say they're not together, but anyone can see how in love they are.

"why and how did you post that on the college blog? i know you've been looking for things to post about, but you're really invading my privacy!"

"i'm sorry, y/n, but it didn't seem that big. i didn't realise that you would get so worked up about it, and i didn't think that he would see it," she seemed genuinely sorry, but i was still kind of upset.

"i'll ask for your permission anytime i post something like that again, i promise!"

now that i'm thinking about it, it's kind of weird how my ex is still stalking my college's blog account. especially the posts about me. but i don't have the guts to confront him. not now, anyway.

if the little game had been over before charlotte posted about it, maybe i wouldn't have minded it that much. but people might be looking for the clues i leave behind for lyney, and that'll cause a huge problem.

"it's fine, i guess." as long as my ex doesn't openly confront me about it, it'll all be fine. i'm sure.

charlotte stands there for a few seconds, biting on her tongue before she finally says goodbye to me and runs away.

i wonder how lyney is doing with everything? hopefully, charlotte didn't make anything too difficult.
