It had taken some pretty hard convincing on Faye's part to get me out of the house and into a club that evening. But, eventually, I had given in, deciding that I needed a drink, and maybe a cute distraction from everything that was happening with Jack—which was nothing at all, really.

I hadn't been to a club in a really long time, and now I remembered why. Confined spaces filled with sweaty, drunk people weren't really my thing. The music was so loud I could feel it in my chest and my ears felt like they were constantly ringing. A basic vodka and soda was twelve dollars, plus tax, and not including a tip, which was robbery, really. And, all I could see for miles was boobs. So many freaking boobs. Even Faye's boobs were out, and Luke was having a hard time controlling himself.

I think Luke tried to pretend he didn't find Faye attractive, but I was watching him ogle over her body right now, and I knew the truth.

I, on the other hand, did not have my boobs out. My legs, were a different story. Just because I didn't like clubs, doesn't mean I didn't know how to dress for one. I wore a white mini dress made of silk, high neck and backless that hugged my hips perfectly and sat just below my backside, revealing my tanned legs—that were looking hella fine because of our ninth floor apartment with no elevator—and accentuating my waist in a way I admittedly loved. I was wearing black stilettos, platform, of course, to help me in the height department.

My hair was curled and left to flow freely over my shoulders, while my clutch was abandoned on our booth table.

Ashton had booked us a VIP booth, since the boys were leaving tomorrow, and they all wanted to celebrate. I had to admit, we had a pretty good view of the DJ from the balcony level, our booth overlooking the dance floor and sea of people below.

Faye had been asking me to dance for an hour, and finally, I caved, but only if we got to stay in our booth. She agreed, and soon enough, we were holding hands as we shook our hips and mouthed the words to familiar songs. Luke watched us with a glimmer in his eyes, feeling strange and bittersweet as he took in Faye and how pretty she was, but also wanting me.

I tipped my head back, laughing as Faye accidentally tripped over herself, stumbling to the floor with a yelp. Okay, so we were sort of ridiculously drunk. She giggled, struggling to get back off the ground.

"We need to come out more often," she breathed, smiling.

I nodded, taking the last tip of my vodka before pouting down at my now empty drink. "I need another."

She smirked, knowing I'd regret nine drinks in the morning. "Let's go down to the bar! The bar tender is hot and shirtless."

"Absolutely," I agreed, nodding and sending her a salute. I skipped up to Luke, throwing my arms around his neck and smiling up at him lazily. He stared down at me, his eyes unreadable. "I'm going to drink again."

"What?" He asked, chuckling. "Don't you think you've had enough cutie?"

I frowned. "No, Mom, let me do what I want I'm not a baby!"

He rolled his eyes, sighing. "Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you."

"Whatever you say, Lucas!" I screamed, lacing my fingers with Faye's and tugging her towards the spiral stairs that led down to the main floor of the club. The music felt louder down here, the bass thumping through my veins and making me slightly dizzy. The crowd near the main bar was packed with people, and I clutched at Faye as to not lose her.

"It's crowded," she noted, before a taller guy with a suit on tried to grind into her from behind. She whipped around, scowling. "What the fuck? Can you not?"

I pushed through the crowd, forcing my way to the front of the bar with a frown set on my lips. Finally, we reached the opening in the crowd, and we tipped back two shots each. Wet Pussy, obviously, before ordering another round of drinks, this time, tequila. I was fully aware that I was mixing my drinks, which was basically asking for a hangover, but also, the more I drank, the less I thought about the blue eyes plaguing my every thought.
