He had a heart full of adventures waiting to unfold, and a spirit that was as wild and untamed as the ocean itself. Reid is a striking figure, standing at around 6 feet tall. He has a lean and athletic build, a testament to his love for outdoor adventures. His sun-kissed skin reflects his countless hours spent under the open sky. He sports a rugged yet endearing appearance, with tousled brown hair that occasionally falls into his sea-blue eyes, giving him a perpetually windswept look. His smile is warm and inviting, and it lights up his face when he's filled with joy. Reid's style is casual and comfortable, often seen in well-worn jeans and a favorite t-shirt, and he has an air of adventure about him that's hard to miss. Reid was hoping to soon escape the slow-paced lifestyle of a small, peculiar town. There were never new faces-hell, even personality types that had different outlooks just on... living.

Reid his whole life had felt different with the other residents of Harbor Haven. While every other young adult in the town wanted to either be stay-at-home mothers or fishermen on the docks, Reid wanted to travel the world. He craved the chance to breathe in the cherry blossoms trees of Japan, to taste the traditional, homemade pasta noodles of Italy, to explore the coves of Hawaii- Reid needed to see the world with his own eyes; Not just from the Travel channel reruns he would catch on YouTube or the postcards his grandmother would send them on her journey traveling the United States.

Reid's family came from old money. Simply put, that meant that everyone in Reid's life believed in picking a life that included a few years in the work force and then becoming a silent investor or some corporate head at a tech firm, marry to some nice (also rich) girl or boy that showed great results of bringing in more networking opportunities, have a couple of bratty, but smart, talented children, and then live a life of relaxation and joy by the age of 40.

Sounds like a lot, right?

For Reid, his whole life he'd been trained to work like a mini-boss man. Stay on schedule, wake up early, try out for every sport, try out for every club, and do everything you can just to be... perfect.

But in the midst of all the chaos, there was one person who had managed to calm the storm within him - Kat.

Reid and Kat had met on a warm summer's day at the local farmer's market. Reid was browsing through the fresh produce, admiring the vibrant colors of the fruits, when he saw her. Kat was sitting at a quaint little stall, selling the most beautiful handcrafted jewelry. Her eyes sparkled with a mischievous charm, and her smile was like a ray of sunshine. Reid felt an instant connection, as if the universe had conspired to bring them together.

Their first conversation was a blur of laughter and shared dreams. Kat was an artist, and her passion for life was infectious. At the age of five, Kat's mother passed away from a drug overdose. She never knew her father, but Kat always remembered her mother saying, "he was one of the good ones." She spent most of her life in and out of foster homes. Some were better than others, but she never let it stop her from what she wanted in life: love.

For her, love was a form of vulnerability and care that she never got to experience. Her mother dated tons of guys. At the time, Kat was too young to understand that the men coming in and out of her mother's bedroom, weren't just employees of imaginary children characters, like the Tooth Fairy or Santa. These were men that knew her mother's body like a rental car. You used it to solve a short fix, and filled it up with gas, never to return to that same car again. Kat wanted to feel a love that was soft like butterfly kisses and passionate like chewing on a rich piece of chocolate- slow and sweet.

Reid, on the other hand, was an adventurous soul, always seeking the next thrill. They were different in so many ways, but their hearts beat to the same rhythm.

As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, Reid and Kat's love grew stronger. They explored hidden coves along the coastline, danced under the starry skies, and whispered secrets to each other that only the waves crashing against the rocks would hear. Reid fell deeply in love with Kat, not just for her beauty, but for the way she saw the world. She painted his life with colors he didn't know existed.

But life, as it often does, had other plans for them.

Reid has always hoped to work for a music company. He always played the role of the passenger DJ because his taste of music expanded to things like mainstream rap or even to underground, indie groups that only has a resume worth of commercial jingles. While he was in college at Savannah Arts, Reid would perform as a disc jockey for many of the downtown clubs. His beats varied in rhythm and flow, making the locals and tourists dance from ways of a house party to sensual slow grinds. When this job opportunity arose that Reid couldn't ignore, it meant moving away from their beloved coastal town. Kat, however, had her roots firmly planted, and she couldn't leave. They faced a heart-wrenching decision, and in the end, they chose their individual paths.

Years went by, but Reid couldn't forget Kat. Her laughter, her smile, and the love they shared haunted him. He missed her more with each passing day. Late at night, he would sit on the shore, gazing at the vast expanse of the ocean, feeling like a sailor lost at sea, yearning for the lighthouse to guide him back home.

The memory of Kat was like a beautiful, bittersweet melody that played in the depths of his heart. Reid couldn't help but wonder if, in some distant future, fate might bring them back together, like two ships reunited on the same endless sea. He missed Kat not just as an old flame but as the love of his life, and he couldn't help but hold onto the hope that one day, their paths might converge once again.
