Several years had passed since Reid and Kat's unexpected reunion at the coastal town. Both had continued to live their separate lives, but the bond they once shared remained a cherished memory. Fate, it seemed, had more surprises in store for them.

One sunny afternoon, Reid received an invitation to an art exhibition showcasing local artists, and to his surprise, Kat's name was among the featured artists. He couldn't resist the opportunity to see her work once more, so he decided to attend.

The gallery was bustling with people, and Reid couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness as he approached Kat's exhibit. He had no idea if she would remember him, and the thought of an awkward encounter weighed on his mind.

Kat, meanwhile, was busy explaining her art to a group of enthusiastic art enthusiasts when she noticed a familiar face in the crowd. Reid had changed over the years, but something about his smile, the way he stood, and his characteristic windblown hair was unmistakable. Her heart skipped a beat.

Reid, oblivious to her gaze, was admiring a particularly vibrant painting when he heard a voice behind him say, "Reid, is that you?"

He turned around, and there she was, Kat, with a mixture of surprise and delight on her face. "Kat! I didn't expect to see you here."

They hugged, and Reid could hardly believe his luck at running into her again. The conversation flowed easily, catching up on the years they had spent apart. Reid found himself falling into their old rhythm, their laughter and ease around each other as if no time had passed.

As they strolled through the art exhibition, Kat showed him her latest works and explained the inspiration behind each piece. Reid was genuinely impressed by her talent and creativity, and he couldn't hide his admiration.

At one point, Reid playfully mentioned the unforgettable pick-up line challenge from their first date. "Remember the ridiculous lines we came up with?" he chuckled.

Kat laughed, recalling their earlier antics. "How could I forget? You were the undisputed champion of cheesy pickup lines that night."

Reid flashed a cheeky grin. "Well, I've been practicing. Want to have a rematch?"

Kat, ever the sport, agreed, and the two of them launched into a friendly competition, challenging each other to come up with the cheesiest lines. Their laughter echoed through the gallery, drawing amused glances from other visitors.

One line after another, they delivered their absurd declarations of affection, each one trying to outdo the other in hilarity. The crowd around them joined in on the fun, creating a lighthearted and joyful atmosphere.

Their playful banter continued until, in a moment of perfect timing, Reid delivered his winning line. "Kat, are you a Wi-Fi signal? Because I'm feeling a strong connection right now."

The crowd erupted into laughter, and Kat couldn't help but blush and admit defeat. "You win again, Reid."

With a twinkle in his eye, Reid leaned in closer to Kat. "Do I win another prize?"

Kat's heart skipped a beat, and the gallery seemed to fade away as they locked eyes. While there were no words being spoken, the two were radiating with heat towards the other.

It felt like they had just spent hours rollerskating and they still felt like their feet were moving.

It felt like the first day of a new season.

In the most simple terms, it felt like old times.

As they pulled away, Reid couldn't help but laugh. "Who would have thought we'd meet again like this, in the middle of an art exhibit?"

Kat grinned, a sparkle in her eye. "Fate works in mysterious ways, doesn't it?"

Reid nodded, his heart full of hope and affection. "It certainly does, Kat. And I can't wait to see where it takes us next."

"MOM!"

Kat turns and the biggest smile appears on her face.

"Hey my son, I'd like you to meet someone."
