Gray stood in the dim alley, not quite ready to go back "home" if you could call it that. The words, "Let's be friends" still sat heavy on his heart, though Gray would sooner die than admit that it was eating him alive. It's weird, to love someone like this. He sighed again into the cold, watching as the air turned white with chill. It was never supposed to be like this, he was never supposed to actually love Stephen...
Did he actually love Stephen?
A difficult question, with an answer Gray couldn't quite provide. There was definitely some kind of emotion there. He knew that something was different. But what? Something about the stupid smile he wore, or his annoying laugh, or the irritating look in his eyes when he was trying not to cry. Stephen was irritating. Gray was still angry. Though he wasn't given much more time to think about this particular issue, being Stephen. The smaller boy had bigger issues to attend to.
"Hey bitch," Wolf spoke with a smile as if they were good friends, in a few strides he settled against the wall next to Gray. The taller had mused purple hair that never quite cooperated, and broad shoulders usually hidden by a thick hoodie, especially on chilly days like this. "Wait long?" He questioned, not really caring about the answer.
Gray half-laughed, "Too long. You're pathetically late asshole," Violet eyes watched the other as he pulled a pack from his pocket, extending the open box to the smaller. He didn't question it, taking a cigarette without a second thought. This routine of banter and smoking was habit to them. Wolf clicked open a lighter, cigarette poised between his lips, shielding the weak flame from the breeze with his hand as they both lit respective smokes.
The air was now white with smoke rather than warmth of voice as a moment of stillness passed between the pair. Oddly enough, it was Wolf who broke this serenity, "So, how are things with your boy?" He asked with a smirk, as of lately, Wolf had gotten into quite the habit of trying to trick Gray into talking about Stephen. It didn't work, but was endearing nonetheless.
He didn't quite want to cry like he did yesterday. If someone had asked the same thing just a couple hours earlier, then he might've really burst into tears. Now however, he remained blank, taking another draw from his cigarette. "We broke up," Gray answered boredly, half-glancing back at Wolf to gauge his reaction.
Widened eyes gave the smaller his answer, "Well shit." He spoke slowly, scuffling his feet a little, "My bad," Wolf added a moment later, in a moment of vulnerability. If you could ever catch the boy off guard with something, you might get to enjoy a moment of him acting outside of his persona. If you surprised him with something he wasn't quite sure how to respond to, then you might meet Seongje Keum, rather than the "brutal, terrifying, monster" that was "Wolf".
Gray shrugged like it didn't bother him, "It's fine," His face felt cold from the whipping winter's wind, and his fingertips followed suite, "I didn't like him all that much, and it never works out with me and dating anyway," The other spoke as if all these things were pure fact, something he'd read straight out of a textbook.
Wolf opened his mouth to say something, then closed it, perhaps failing to find the proper words. Another minute passed between them before Wolf Keum could gather himself, "Well whore," He hummed, a smirk still lingering behind his cigarette, "I'm still single, I'll be your rebound honey,"
Violet eyes met silver for a brief moment before both parties broke off into respective fits of laughter, even Gray who, deep down, truly was grieving the loss of the first boy he'd ever truly wanted to date, couldn't help but laugh. "You're so fucking stupid," He answered, regaining his composure and taking another drag.
"Ah c'mon," He waved his hand back and forth as if to beckon him closer, not that Gray would ever take such a bait, "You know I'm not bad," Wolf laughed still, nearly choking himself with smoke in the process.
