From the dugout, I could clearly observe what was taking place outside. The players were lining up to shake their manager's hand while the media members were snapping photos of them. All the fans were screaming and chanting Shohei's name. They seemed to love him a lot.

He walked onto the field, carrying the bat and wearing Angels' grey uniform. Today he played as a designated hitter. Honestly, although he seemed to be quite friendly and kind outside the field, he was completely different in the mound area: deadly serious, always focused, and rarely smiled. I guessed that was part of why he attracted such a huge amount of attention whenever he appeared.

After the official introductions, the game began. As soon as Shohei batted, the crowd exploded, and all I could hear was the loudest screams and yelling that I'd ever heard. There was no doubt that the match was going well for Angel. Their players played extremely well and played with great precision. They were able to score twice consecutively, without any problem.

I was so focused on the game that I almost forgot about what I needed to do. My right hemisphere thought about the papers in front of my eyes. My other flashed back to what Shohei asked me earlier. "Can you meet me after the game?" His words echoed in my mind. He looked so chill when he said them. But then again, Shohei was a very mysterious man. I shook my head. I couldn't worry about this now. I had a job to do.

"The game is going to end Y/N. Get ready for the press conference" Marie came up to me with a tablet in her hand.

Her words pulled me out of my thoughts, and I nodded absentmindedly. I quickly got up and rushed into the dugout, heading straight for the conference room. When I opended the door, Joely and Luka had already been there to set up the devices.

I spotted everyone and immediately made my way to Luka, who was seated on the floor near the table, surrounded by the members of the media. I handed him my notes of the game and he read it carefully.

"Ok... now, let's get to work." He stood up and made her way toward the cameras. Everyone else started to file in and take their positions.

As I reached the seat next to Joely, she whispered "What took you so long?"

"I have to collect the news and edit it together with everything that is already out" I informed her as she nodded understanding. "There's a lot of work to do!" I exclaimed as I stretched out in my chair.

"Then we should grab some drinks after the press conference" Joely proposed excitedly. I smiled. "Leave it for another time, Joely". "Alright!" she sighed as she rested her chin onto her palm. I chuckled lightly and went back to focus on my work.

Soon the reporters and journalists arrived. Luka had done an excellent job organizing everything. After 30 minutes, the room was filled with them. They were all waiting for the latest updates on the game, the transfer contracts, and players' injury updates.

The door was cracked open, revealing our coach - Phil Nevin, general manager Perry Minasian, Mike Trout, and lastly, Shohei Ohtani and Ippei Mizuhara. Cameras flashed continuously. Everyone was asking questions nonstop. I glanced over at Shohei who was sitting next to Phil, and his expression told me everything. He looked confident, calm, collected, and unbothered. He didn't seem like a person that would need the constant pressure of public appearances on his shoulders. On the contrary, his demeanor was one of ease and coolness.

"As usual, Shohei doesn't care much about the questions beyond baseball" Joely muttered quietly. I nodded in agreement. He just put 200 percent of effort and attention into baseball. I saw him give Phil a small smile as the latter asked him questions.

"By the way, do you know why Lars is absent from the team line-up today?" I questioned curiously.

"I heard that he got some business to deal with" Joely replied. "He was supposed to come but he called Nevin, and he said he's unavailable until next week."
