CHAPTER 5

So here I am, on this new mission to figure out that man who caught Seb's eye. We finally made it to the classroom, and Seb handed the books to the teacher, who placed them on her shelf. We were running late for our 3rd block, but luckily the teacher gave us a pass. But honestly, I didn't really care about being late. Just the thought of walking into that classroom and not finding a seat terrified me, bro. And to top it off, everyone staring at me. "Seb, please tell me we're in the same 3rd block," I asked desperately, anxiously waiting for his response. And guess what? To my luck, he nodded and I felt so damn relieved.

Haha, got it! So, I was like, "Thank god," and he just laughed at me. But then he dropped the bombshell and said, "But we have assigned seats, buddy." My smile disappeared faster than a Snapchat message And I couldn't believe it, I mean, who even has assigned seats nowadays? It's like we're back in the Stone Age or something. I turned to Seb with a dumbfounded expression and blurted out, "Tell me you're joking!" I was just so shocked by the whole idea. Like, seriously, who wants to be stuck in the same seat every day?

It's like a never-ending Groundhog Day. Ugh, I really wish I never moved to this school. It's like a seat prison. Seb laughed at my confusion, and I was like, "Why you laughing, bro?" I said annoyed. He replied, "Because it's funny how you react to stuff." He shook his head and walked past me. I quickly caught up, "Wait up, bro!"

We finally made it to class after what felt like an hour-long walk in this huge school. I gotta admit, I was pretty darn nervous. I had no clue who I was gonna sit next to, and honestly, I didn't wanna find out. But guess what? As soon as we walked into the classroom, Seb ditched me once again and went straight to his assigned seat in the front. There I was, standing there like a total idiot. I could hear some kids whispering, wondering if I was the new kid. Like, isn't it obvious enough, people?

"Ah, Justin Phan, welcome to science! We have assigned seats in this class," she said. Don't worry, girl, I know unfortunately. "You'll sit next to... wait, where is he?" she asked. I looked over to where I was supposed to sit in the second row, but I didn't see anyone there. "Mhm?" I hummed questionably. Suddenly, someone walked past me, and I looked to see that familiar pink hair. Ah ha! I immediately glanced at Seb, and he had his eyes locked onto the boy. I smirked, knowing I hit the jackpot.

"Ah yes, Ryan, don't be late again! This is the 5th time," she said, but that Ryan kid didn't even bother to look at her or acknowledge her. He just sat down. I went over to the table and sat next to him. He gave me a quick glare and then looked back at his fingers, playing with a pen. Is one of those quite kids or something?

The lesson started and on the first day of me being here, we had to do some experiments shit. Like what?! So me being petty I basically made that kid Ryan do all the work. But he didn't seem bother and he didn't say anything so I didn't care. Suddenly he handed a tool to me, you gotta be kidding. "Why you giving this to me?" I acted clueless. He looked at me for a split second without saying anything, it kinda started to scare me no cap. "Because you didn't do anything, you don't have that free privilege just because your new. Schools about work so act like it." He said and I was shocked, his attitude, his sassiness.. I think we will be good friends. I smiled pettily and he smiled the same way back.

I started looking at the papers with the directions and started helping him out. And I gotta say, we worked together pretty darn well, just like I predicted. Plus, maybe by being friends with him, I can get Seb closer to Ryan. Seb seems kinda—wait not 'kinda' *VERY* hesitant to even talk to him, judging by the way he keeps staring but not making any moves. But who knows, maybe things will change. And no I'm not being nice—just uhh yeah.

Soon, the class lessons started to wind down, and we settled back into our seats, putting everything away and getting organized. I slumped back and rested my head, feeling a tap on my shoulder. I looked up groggily, only to meet another pair of those pretty brown eyes. "We did pretty good," he said. I straightened up and replied, "Yeah, and if we fail, I'll purposely grab that project and go full cobra-ky on the teacher." We both laughed at the thought.

The bell rang and I started getting my stuff ready, and surprisingly Ryan waited for me to get ready, I guess we're about to get along. Once I got my things ready I started to walk and he followed right beside me. "What's your next block?" He asked. "I don't know, Seb is taking me to all my classes, so we have to wait for him," I said, noticing a hint of nervousness in his expression. Just then, Seb arrived. "Finally, bro," I exclaimed as we started walking. As we walked, I couldn't help but notice our positions. I was in the middle, with both men on my left and right. So, I sneakily walked aside, and they didn't notice, seemingly getting closer to each other.

It was a funny little moment that made me chuckle. Soon, Seb was the first to notice and was immediately taken aback, while Ryan didn't seem to care and stayed focused on his phone. Seb turned towards me and gave me a look that clearly said 'Wtf'. I couldn't help but chuckle at the situation. We continued walking and finally made it to class.

Once we got to the door, Seb stayed against the wall, as if he was waiting for me to go in. I was confused because I thought we had a class together. "Uh, you're not coming in?!" I asked, puzzled. Seb gave me a long 'er' and replied, "Uhhh, we don't have this class together." I looked at him, completely flabbergasted, and exclaimed, "WHAT-?!" Just then, the door opened and this scruffy old man appeared. I heard Ryan laugh a little before heading off to his class. What an asshole.

I entered the classroom with a sense of reluctance, knowing that all eyes were on me. It felt as if I had committed some kind of crime and everyone was judging me. The atmosphere was tense, and I couldn't help but feel self-conscious under their scrutinizing gazes.

It was an uncomfortable situation, and I couldn't wait for it to be over. "Class this is Justin phan, new student." He sounded more bored then the other happy teachers, he might be my favorite. "Go take a seat." He said, uh how is the man gonna let me go out like that alone, dam. I nervously walked pass desk, trying to find a free seat.

I swear to god.
