Chapter 8
Sorry for the late update. I had about 9 assignments (all in history and philosophy) and four tests (Latin, ancient Greek and a few other dead languages). Thanks for the patience.
GOJO POV
Why exactly did he think it was going to be easy playing with Dazai? That man was as clever as he was mentally unstable and Gojo couldn't help but be annoyed at how the brunet was always a step ahead but never too far as if he was holding back so Gojo could reach him.
And this game of cat and mouse was pissing him off. One thing he couldn't wrap his head around was how in the fucking hell did Dazai already find out who had send him here? Gojo was working his ass off with missions and little fights so he could clear up his schedule, all the while always keeping Six Eyes open for anything that has the potential to be connected to the sorcerer that has been playing with the multiverse.
"Fuuuck." Satoru frowned, pressing the palms of his hands over his eyes as his alarm started ringing. He was laying on the king sized bed in his room, Dazai snoring slightly next to him.
Dazai's cold legs were wrapped around his in a deadly hold and it was near impossible to get up from the bed from the position they were in. Well... it wasn't like Gojo was dying of eagerness to get out of bed either. Having to face the higher-ups yet again was not something he was completely pleased about. On top of that he had to get back to his teaching duties, helping Yuji navigate his newfound cursed energy and monitoring Nobara and Megumi.
Gojo's phone started ringing again and he was about to curse at the alarm again but stopped when he saw the caller ID pop up on his dark screen. Shoko? Now that was peculiar enough for him to pick up. Shoko never called him first except for gravely serious situations.
And so he picked up.
"Finally." Shoko's voice on the line was tired, she always sounded like that, but there was something else mixed with the roughness of her voice. "I've been trying to reach you since last night."
"I've been kind of busy." Gojo glanced towards Dazai and wrestled with the covers and their legs to finally stand up from the bed, walking towards the bathroom.
"Yuji died."
Gojo stilled on his way to the shower, processing the few words Shoko had said. He stayed in the middle of his bathroom like an idiot, staring at the wall.
"The higher-ups?" He couldn't recognize his own voice, it was hollow and distant.
"The first years fought with Sukuna while on a mission. They were supposed to exorcise a special grade curse. Sukuna took control and ripped Yuji's heart out."
His mind was running thousands thoughts per second, the Six Eyes restless, looking everywhere and trying to see everything, his brain working tirelessly to work the new pieces of information.
Gojo leaned on the tiled wall and exhaled shakily. Shoko said she was waiting for him and hung up on him. Then came the anger.
Gojo let Limitless seep from him on waves of pure rage. He was shaking, fists clenching and unclenching next to his sides. When? How?
This wasn't part of the plan. Where the fuck did they fuck up? Why were the teens fighting a special grade curse? Why did the higher-ups send them to their literal deaths? What the fuck was going on? He swore there weren't going to be any more Amanais in his life and more Yutas. Unwanted memories started surrounding his thoughts, slowly pushing him towards the dark abyss that his mind was made of.
There was a knock on the door, pulling him out of his spiraling thoughts. Then the door creeks open and Dazai stands there, dressed and bandaged up like always. Just how long has Gojo been in here for?
