I grabbed my book bag and rushed out of my room. The time was 7:12 AM, and the bus left at 7:25 AM since we were far from the school. I ran down the stairs and unlocked the front door. I opened the door and closed it slowly. The sun was peering in the fog as I grabbed my skateboard.
I tossed it to the ground and hopped on. With my schedule in hand and book bag hanging over my shoulders, I was ready to go. I rode down the road and peeked at my paper in hand. The first day of school was always stressful, but I knew all I had to do once dropped off was go to the front office to find someone to help me find my classes.
After a few minutes, I made it to the bus stop. The time was now 7:19 AM, and a few other people, including Finn, sat on the ground. One of the people, a girl, looked over at me. "Who are you?" She asked, her voice sounded tired. I hopped off my skateboard and grabbed it by the side. "Bailey..." I groan, walking behind them and sitting on the grass patch. She followed me with her eyes and smiled softly.
I could tell that the smile wasn't friendly. "I'm Vivian. Nice to meet you." She chuckled, looking me up and down. Her eyes and my eyes locked for a second. "Well, the bus will be here soon..." Finn said softly, looking back at me. As he said that, the bus pulled up. I stood up and held my skateboard. I let everyone on first and waited.
A young man looked down at me. "Pick a seat, any seat that's empty." He said cheerily, grinning at me. It gave me the chills, but I got on and picked a spot in the back that was empty. I tossed my book bag and skateboard next to me and sat down. The bus started to drive off, and I just listened to my music and looked out the window.
After 35 minutes, we arrived at the school. I grabbed my book bag and put it on. I put my headphones around my neck and started to walk down the aisle. I hopped out of the bus and looked at the sign. The front office was to the left. I made my way down and headed inside. The office was mainly empty except for the staff.
"Oh, hello Bailey!" The woman said. She was the woman that Mother was talking to yesterday. "I'll get Boe down here. She has the same classes as you, except for gardening, band, physical education, and world history, but that's fine!" She exclaims, grabbing the microphone from next to her. "Boe Boggs, report to the front office, I repeat, Boe Boggs to the front office!" She said into the microphone.
I waited for 2 minutes until a girl with brown hair and green eyes walked in. "Boe, this is Bailey. You will show her around, and she will go with you to the first, second, and sixth periods!" She smiled, looking back and forth from me and Boe. Boe smiled and nodded, looking at me.
"Let's go!" She exclaimed, grabbing my schedule and walking out of the office, I followed behind her. "Nice to meet you, Bailey, you're pretty!" She chirped, looking at my schedule. I smiled softly, not getting that many compliments often. The halls were packed, so I grabbed onto her book bag. "So let's start with the classes we don't have together to gardening first!" She cheered, speeding up her walking.
"You like gardening?" She asked, looking back at me, the halls clearing up. I nodded yes, looking around and letting go of her bag. "That's great!" She smiled, opening the door to the gardening room. The room was filled with all types of plants, and the teacher was watering some rose bushes.
He looked back at us and smiled. "Hello, you new kid?" He asked me, gardening gloves covering his hands. I nodded yes, looking at Boe. "I'm Mr. Veloskie, nice to meet you!" He said, taking off a glove to shake my hand. I shook his hand and got a thorn stuck in my finger. I looked down at my finger and Boe.
"Well, let's go to Band now!" She smiled, standing at the door. I looked back at Mr. Veloskie. "See you later.." I said, leaving the greenhouse, which lived up to its name. I ran after her as we ran to the band room. I played the trombone in my old school, so I was excited to play aging.
