Rehaan had spent days contemplating his relationship with Rachel after their steamy elevator encounter. Despite the turbulence in their relationship and the toxicity that often clouded their interactions, he decided to give her another chance. He felt a sense of obligation, believing that their shared history deserved at least that much.

Determined to set things right, Rehaan made his way to the library to return the book Reena had lent him. As he walked through the quiet aisles, he finally reached the circulation desk where Reena was busy with her librarian duties.

Reena looked up and greeted him with a warm smile, "Welcome back, Rehaan. I see you're returning the book."

Rehaan nodded, placing the book on the desk. "Yes, and I wanted to thank you for recommending it. It was quite an interesting read."

Reena was genuinely pleased to see him return. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. How have you been? Is everything okay?"

Rehaan hesitated, and for a moment, it seemed like he might open up. But then, he quickly shut that door and replied curtly, "I'm managing, thanks."

Reena, however, sensed the conflict in him. She decided to broach the subject gently, "You mentioned Rachel during our last elevator encounter. How are things with her?"

Rehaan's demeanor shifted. His voice was colder, and his gaze was sharp. "I've decided to give her another chance. That's all I'll say."

Reena could feel the walls he had erected around himself. It was evident that he didn't want to discuss his personal life any further. She respected his boundaries and nodded, "Of course, Rehaan. I hope it works out for you."

Their conversation remained terse, and Rehaan's demeanor didn't soften. He had always been rude and distant towards Reena, and this encounter was no different. Despite her best efforts to be kind and understanding, he continued to push her away.

As Rehaan turned to leave, he barely acknowledged her presence, and Reena couldn't help but feel a pang of frustration and disappointment. She wished she could break through the barriers he had put up, to show him that there was kindness and understanding in the world, but for now, he remained a mystery she couldn't unravel.

Reena watched him walk away, holding on to the hope that one day, Rehaan might open up and let her in.
