Chapter 1 These Guys Are A Best Match

Luella visits Himuro Gentoku to meet with him about their arranged marriage. Both agree they couldn't pursue their engagement because they didn't have feelings for each other. They knew each other when they were children because of their family status.

Mamoru Luella is a young woman in her early 20s. She has long, straight black hair that is wavy at the end. Her eyes are dark brown, and her skin is fair.

"How are you holding up?" Gentoku asked about her well-being as she works nonstop as a detective at the Touto Police Department.

"Fine as I can be." Luella answered truthfully and exhaled softly. "It doesn't help that our parents press us to get engaged."

Luella is on a case to find Katsuragi Takumi's true killer and believes the culprit is innocent. She's been working with the police for three years and is well-known for solving cold cases. It didn't help that the Mamoru family was displeased with the idea of her working in the police because it was a dangerous job for her.

The Himuro family planned to have an arranged marriage with Mamoru's family because they're one of the influential people in Touto. Luella and Himuro are against it as they try to find a way to nullify it.

"Luella, you have Ji-yoo to help you solve some case." Gentoku reminded her, knowing she had pushed too hard to solve the case. It also didn't help her parents were trying to kick her out of the job but couldn't do it due to Luella's achievements. "He only listens to you and never acknowledges us."

Luella has a partner working with her as a Detective, Takashi Ji-yoo. He was born in Seoul, Korea, and his mother remarried a Japanese man as they immigrated to Japan. Ji-yoo respected Luella because she was a hard-working detective who wanted to unveil the case they needed to solve. Her partner has no romantic feelings and thinks Luella is one of her closest friends.

"If the Pandora Box didn't exist, I wish the people wouldn't change their personality and create a Sky Wall in three divisions." Luella muttered bitterly while gripping her pen tight in anger.

Ten years ago, a group of astronauts found a mysterious artifact hidden on Mars named Pandora's Box. It was the beginning of their nightmare as they brought it down to Earth to expose their discovery and ended up in tragedy. A mysterious person somehow activated the Pandora Box, creating a giant wall, which they named Sky Wall. It split the nation into three parts, each with its capital, Japan.

Hokuto in the North focuses on social welfare.

Seito in the West pursues economic recovery.

Touto in the East adheres to traditional pacifism.

Japan was torn apart by Pandora's Box when its nation was torn into three rather than becoming one.

Despite their wealth, Luella's parents used to be a caring and loving family. However, they somehow got involved in the strange light of Pandora's Box, and their personality changed. The Mamoru became controlled and manipulative as they punished anyone who dared to defy them. Luella isn't afraid of them, but she's hurt to see them change for the worse.

"Luella." Gentoku called her name softly, and she faced him. "I promise you, we'll get to the bottom of this and return everyone to normal." He assured her.

"Gentoku..." She whispered his name while gazing at his brown eyes.

"Sir, Mamoru-san." They turned around to face Gentoku's assistant, Utsunami Nariaki. "They need you."

"Duty calls." Gentoku sighs heavily before patting Luella. "Try to relax sometimes, Luella."

"I'll try, Gentoku." She smiles weakly before walking away from them.
