𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 |𝐒𝐎𝐀|

Something heavy was weighing on the mind of Dr. Tara Knowles-Teller as she was driving her son Thomas and stepson Abel to the auto shop that was run by her in-laws.

She had gotten called into her job as a surgeon at the local hospital unexpectedly and she was hoping that Gemma would be willing to keep the boys for her while she was working.

If she was being completely honest with herself though, the same something had been on her mind since the previous day when she had been at the grocery store with her neighbor's two daughters, Olivia and Bridget.

It had started for her when the younger of the two, Bridget had happened to ask her how she might go about reporting abuse of someone to the proper authorities.

Tara had been pretty taken aback by the young girl's question. She had managed to pull her together enough to explain to Bridget though about how she would probably have to talk to an adult she trusted who would then report the situation to the police.

(Flashback to Tara's conversation with Bridget)

Tara: Bridget honey, you're not the one that's being abused, are you?

Bridget: Oh no, no. It's not me. It's um, I was just asking for a-a friend, that's all.

Tara: Okay, then. Well, should your friend need an adult to confide in about whatever's going on with them, let them know that I'm here, okay kiddo?

(End of flashback)

Pulling herself from her thoughts as she turned her car into the lot at TM, Tara noticed that the car that belonged to Wendy Case, her husband's ex who also happened to be Abel's biological mother was parked in the spot next to Gemma's Escalade.

Tara wasn't a fan of the blonde due to her being a former drug addict not to mention the fact that her drug habit had put Abel in serious danger before he was even born.

She'd been trying her hardest to be somewhat civil towards Wendy whenever she happened to see her especially considering that the blonde had wanted to spend time around Abel every so often, with Jax and Tara's approval beforehand of course.

As she got out of the car, the brunette doctor was greeted by Filip Telford who was also known as Chibs to his brothers.

"Hey there, doc. Jackie boy isn't 'ere right now. "

Tara smiled at the Scotsman in greeting. He returned the gesture before offering to help her with getting the two boys out of her vehicle. She quickly accepted and thanked him for helping her out.

"No problem, doc."

"Is Gemma in right now by any chance, Chibs? I got called into work to help out since a couple of the doctors called in sick and I was hoping that she could maybe look after the boys for me."

The Scotsman confirmed that the SAMCRO matriarch was indeed in the office. He then offered to keep an eye on Abel and Thomas for her while she spoke with Gemma.

Making her way over to the office, Tara greeted the SAMCRO matriarch along with Wendy.

"Gemma I was hoping that you could maybe look after the boys for me. I got called into work to cover for another doctor who called in sick with that bug that's going around. Might end up being a double shift for me too."

Gemma assured the brunette that she was more than happy to look after her grandsons overnight if needed.

Wendy who usually tried to rock the boat with her ex husband or Jax as little as possible remained silent as the two continued their conversation.

"Thanks, Gem. I really appreciate it. Also, do you by any chance know a family by the name of Lennox? They live a few doors down from me and Jax."

Wendy's head shot up at the brunette's mention of the family, a mixed look of worry and concern evident in her brown wues. Her reaction definitely didn't go unnoticed by Gemma.

"Uh, yeah I know of them. The father's name is Hal and he has two daughters. There's also a son who I'm pretty sure enlisted in the Marines once he reached 17. What are you asking about them?"

Tara explained that she'd driven Hal's daughters down to the store the day before to get themselves some groceries since their dad was was away on some business trip and while they were at the store, the younger girl, Bridget, had asked her about how she could hypothetically report someone for abuse.

Wendy could feel her stomach doing flips as she listened to the doctor talking to her former mother in law. She was fully aware that Hal had come very close to being sent to prison 4 years before because of allegations that he was sexually abusing Bridget's sister Olivia but that nothing had come of that and the girls eventually ended up being put back in his custody.

Tara ended up leaving a few minutes later and Gemma turned to look at Wendy who was now fighting back tears as she sat on the couch in the office.

"Wendy, what's going on?"

Wendy had to take a few deep breaths before she was able to speak and once she did, she said something that the SAMCRO matriarch definitely wasn't expecting for her to say.

"Olivia and Bridget Lennox are, they're um they're actually my nieces, Gemma. Their mother Catherine is my older sister."
