Olivia woke the following morning in her aunt's guest room, a small smile forming on her lips when she noticed Bridget still sound asleep in the bed next to her.
The fifteen-year-old felt extremely content at that particular moment and rightfully so in her eyes anyway.
After all, it had been a long time since she'd had a full night of almost completely uninterrupted sleep.
She personally contributed that to the fact that she hadn't had to worry about her father coming into the room the previous night and forcing himself on her for once.
Pulling herself from the thoughts about her father, the teen carefully climbed out of the bed so as not to disturb her still sleeping sister.
She made her way to the bathroom across the hall from the room which her aunt had told her and Bridget would be theirs for the time being until their living situation was sorted out.
Using the toilet and making sure to wash both her hands and face as well as brush her teeth with one of the spare toothbrushes Wendy had given to her and Bridget after she had finished, Olivia made her way up the short hallway to the kitchen where she found her aunt and Juice working together to make breakfast for the four of them.
Wendy smiled at her niece right away when she noticed the girl standing in the doorway watching her and her old man.
"Morning, sweetie. Did you sleep okay last night?"
Olivia confirmed that she'd indeed slept good the previous night before asking her aunt if they would still be speaking to the police chief that morning.
"Yes, I really don't wanna have to worry about you or Bridget having to go back to that house. I'll be right there with you the whole time though, okay? I promise."
Olivia didn't speak but simply nodded her head in response to her aunt's words.
Bridget must have woken up not long after Olivia had left the room that they'd shared the previous night. She padded into the kitchen, wiping the remnants of sleep from her eyes.
She opened her mouth to greet the trio when there was a loud unexpected pounding on the front door, causing both herself and Olivia to practically jump out of their skins.
This didn't go unnoticed by either Wendy or Juice and the latter told his old lady to stay in the kitchen with the girls while he went to see who was at the door.
Whoever was at the door kept pounding on it until Juice finally managed to open it.
The guy on the other side looked royally pissed as he demanded to know where Olivia and Bridget were.
The two girls in question knew right away that the person at the door was Hal.
Wendy knew that it was her brother in law too. She shifted closer to Olivia who had a now crying Bridget wrapped in her arms as she attempted to calm the younger by whispering soothingly into her ear, assuring the her that everything was going to be okay and that she wouldn't let anyone hurt her.
Bridget whimpered softly at the sound of Hal's loud angry voice as she clung to the older girl, making Wendy's heart ache at the evident fear that her daughter was clearly feeling at that moment.
"Olivia sweetie, take Bridget into the guest room and lock the door. I'll come check on you once your dad leaves, okay? Stay in there and don't come out for any reason until I come and get you."
Olivia nodded at her aunt and quickly guided Bridget out of the kitchen and back to the guest room.
The blonde didn't move from her spot by the hallway until she heard the click of the door, indicating that the two were safely locked inside the room.
