The world we live in
Warning shots fired to the head;
Nine were wounded,
Three are dead.
Somewhere a baby cries;
His crack-head father foams at the mouth,
While dead on the floor his mother lies.
She cowers in a corner.
Her silent tears dilute the blood
Flowing freely from her lip.
But she holds her head high,
Pretending he still loves her.
And we live in a world
Where nothing I see makes sense.
Brothers and sisters are fighting,
People are needlessly dying.
So I have to ask:
What the hell have we become?
