Lucy's pov:
We walk down to the boot room and Y/n refuses to let go of my hand for one second and when I'm getting my boots on she won't leave my side.
Lucy: Kiddo, I know you probably don't want to hear this but can you sit on the side while we train, I know you don't want me to leave you but I'm not going anywhere, I promise.
Y/n: Ok Lucy.
Lucy: Thank you kiddo, and in a couple of days when your concussion has gone, I'm sure I can persuade Sarina to let you join in on training if you'd like.
Y/n: Really?
Lucy: Yeah, you said you liked football so you'll have to show us your skills, but only when you're better, I don't want you to get injured more.
Y/n: Ok Lucy.
Once I had said that, Y/n looked up at me and had a genuine smile for the first time since I had known her, I've been thinking and she actually looks a lot like Katie McCabe, I'm sure it's just a coincidence but it is strange how she said her family is from Ireland as well, I'm sure I'm just thinking too much into it though. Once we have all got our boots on, we start to walk out to the pitches, me and Ellen wait with
Y/n until everyone else has walked out, then we start to make our way out.
Lucy: Will you be ok kiddo?
Y/n: Yeah as long as you don't leave.
Lucy: I will never be too far away, I promise.
Ellen: And neither will I kiddo.
Y/n: Thank you both.
We get up to the training pitch and just as Sarina is about to tell us off for being late, she notices Y/n and just smiles at us instead, before turning her attention back to the team as Ellen walks over to them, I walk over to the edge of the pitch and sit Y/n down on one of the chairs, before crouching down in front of her.
Lucy: I have to go now kiddo, but you'll be able to see me and I will come and check on you when I can ok?
Y/n: Ok Luce, thank you again.
Lucy: It's ok, there is no need to keep saying thank you, I'm here for you now, I'll see you in a bit ok kiddo.
Y/n: Ok Luce. *Lucy walks off and over to Sarina who has already started the rest of the team on their warmup, with them*
Lucy: Sorry I was late Sarina.
Sarina: That doesn't matter, do not worry. Is she doing ok?
Lucy: Not really, she's really struggling.
Sarina: Poor kid, she's been through so much and she's still only so young.
Lucy: I know, but we've got her now and I won't let anyone hurt her again.
Sarina: Even though she hasn't properly met the whole team, I know all the girls will welcome her.
Lucy: Yeah I know that they will, I just don't want to overwhelm the poor kid so I was thinking if we introduce her to smaller groups at a time.
Sarina: That is a good idea, we'll sort something out later, now can you warm up Luce, so the other girls don't start asking questions.
Lucy: Of course Sarina. *runs off and starts to warm up*
Keira: What was that about Luce?
Lucy: She was just making sure Y/n was ok, we're going to introduce her to the rest of the girls later, but not all at once because we don't want to overwhelm her.
Keira: You are the best Luce, but you know what, Y/n really looks like McCabe.
Lucy: I know, I was thinking exactly the same, and she said all her family were from Ireland but I'm not sure if it is just a coincidence.
Keira: Yeah could be.
Sarina: Keira, Lucy, get into groups please, stop standing there and talking.
Lucy: Sorry Sarina.
Keira: Sorry.
*Skip to after training*
Sarina: Well done today girls, you're all free to go but, Lucy can I speak to you quickly?
Lucy: Of course *people start to leave* Ells can you go check on Y/n for me please.
Ellen: If course Luce *walks over to Y/n*
Lucy: So Sarina what's up?
Sarina: Nothing I just wanted to ask how you wanted to introduce the girls to Y/n.
Lucy: I'm not sure, I just know it can't be all at once, she's very nervous.
Sarina: Ok well do what you have to.
Lucy: Thank you Sarina. *walks off* Hey kiddo you ok?
Y/n: Yeah, you were great in training.
Lucy: Thank you kiddo, the girls should be leaving by now, come on.
Y/n: Can I hold your hand again please?
Lucy: Of course you can *puts out her hand for you to hold* I'm not going anywhere kiddo.
Y/n: Thank you.
Lucy's pov:
We walked back into the boot room and I was expecting most of the girls to have left by now, but I was very wrong, everyone is still sitting in there just talking and even though Ellen was trying to get them to leave soon, none of the girls were having it and when we walked in, all the girls were looking at us and I could feel how nervous Y/n was with all of the attention.
Mary: Who's the kid?
Lucy: Mary leave it.
Mary: No, you weren't at training yesterday and now you just turn up with some random kid, we're your teammates, we should know.
Lucy: Mary, leave it.
Mary: This isn't like you Lucy, not like you at all.
Once Mary had said this, I had had enough, I make sure to keep hold of Y/n'a hand and walk out of the boot room because I could see how uncomfortable she was feeling.
Y/n: I'm sorry.
Lucy: What are you sorry for kiddo?
Y/n: You just had an argument with Mary because of me.
Lucy: It's fine, me and Mary argue all the time and she was in the wrong, now come on let's go back up to the room and get changed, you're very wet from sitting out there, and I think it's safe to say I need a shower *laughs*
Y/n: Ok.
Keira: *walks out the boot room* Are you ok kiddo?
Lucy: *Y/n hides behind her* It's ok kiddo, Keira won't hurt you,
Y/n: Sorry.
Keira: It's ok darling, don't worry, I just wanted to come out and say sorry for Mary.
Y/n: Thank you.
Lucy: Do you want to come up with us?
Keira: Sure yeah.
We walk up to mine and Jordan's room and Keira decides that she'll come in with us.
Lucy: Right kiddo you're soaking wet, here take these *hands her some of Jordan's clothes* put them on.
Y/n: Are you sure Jordan won't mind?
Lucy: Of course she won't, now go on, you can have a shower too if you would like.
Y/n: Thank you. *goes into the bathroom*
Y/n's pov:
I'm just going to get changed, I know my arms will hurt too much if I have a shower so that'll have to wait. I get changed and then I walk back out to Lucy and Keira laying on Lucy's bed, cuddling each other.
Lucy: Did you not want a shower kiddo?
Y/n: No, my arms *looks down*
Lucy: No it's ok, I do need to give them a clean so come and sit on the bed for me kiddo.
Y/n: Ok but be gentle please Luce.
Lucy: Of course, it's going to hurt a bit though but I will be as gentle as possible.
Keira: Come and sit on my lap and you can grab my hand if it hurts ok.
Y/n: Thank you Keira.
