Kokushibo x Reader
(3rd POV)
***She was so beautiful under the dazzling colors. Hues of blue, red, green, and yellow splashed against her face. Y/N looked up to the sky, smiling just like all of the other civilians.
He didn't know what holiday is was, nor did he care. His eyes stayed glued onto Y/N, captivated by every movement or action. How long had he known her? It may have been a few months, or a year. She still looked the same, as did he. Although, she didn't know of his existence. After all, Kokushibo liked to watch from the shadows instead.
What would the demon progenitor say about this? Hopefully, he didn't know yet. Kokushibo's morals screamed at him to stop, to leave this woman alone. He just couldn't. Whether it was the way she walked, talked, or looked, he couldn't stay away.
The celebration had ended, and like always, he followed her home. Her house was very modest; it didn't scream rich or poor. Kokushibo always told himself that following her was just a safety precaution. While that was true, there were many layers to peel. To keep it simple, he was very selfish.
Y/N was just too special to let go. He had never seen a human like her, and probably never would again. His morals wanted him to leave her as she was now; a humble human. But, Kokushibo couldn't bear the thought of letting her age. She would eventually marry, have children, and then wither away like a dying flower. He would stay the exact same, trembling with sorrow as the years passed on.
He couldn't have that. Wouldn't.
If it hadn't been for his presence, she'd be long deceased by now. Far too many men were predatory, venturing into places they didn't belong. Quick work was made of them. Their body parts weren't even eaten; Kokushibo was too disgusted to think of it.
Six eyes stared into her window, glued to her sleeping form. She was much smaller than him, but that was okay. Kokushibo usually didn't have a preference, but quite enjoyed Y/N's smaller nature. (Assuming you're not a 6'3 goddess)
It made him feel more inclined to have her.
The hair he'd come to love was sprawled out on her pillow, creating a halo around her head. Like a quiet mouse, he unlocked the latch and slipped inside. Y/N's carpet was soft underneath his feet, and the floorboards were of good quality. They wouldn't creak or make sound.
So beautiful, so fragile.
Would she break like glass if he were to touch her? Kokushibo hadn't dared let a finger of his own grace her skin. He wondered how soft it would be against his.
He pulled the blankets back, showing the rest of her form on top of the futon. Six bright optics burned into her two closed ones. Her chest rose and fell at a slow pace. She was asleep. Kokoshibo dreaded the idea of her waking up.
Or did he?
Never before had he felt her skin, and now, he had broken a sacred rule. His heart thumped erratically, and he wasn't sure why. The skin of her cheeks were touched by his fingers, and outlined along the imperfections. He loved every single anomaly, realizing that flawed was better than perfect.
Soft touches turn into light kisses, with Y/N remaining unaware. She was too lost into her dream.
The ground was filled with cherry blossom petals, stretching on for infinity. Cherry blossom trees expanded beyond the horizon, glowing bright pink because of the low-set sun. If Y/N were to lay down, the petals would consume her entire body. She stayed standing, looking to every direction in wonder.
She paused upon seeing a figure in the distance, her eyes first falling to his purple and black haori. Then, Y/N tilted her head at the long ponytail. But it wasn't a woman. Why did he have a blade resting at his hip? Further more, why was he getting closer?
The closer he became, the more Y/N tried to step away. He had three pairs of eyes, each one widening at her. She didn't feel safe. He walked faster, gripping his blade tighter. Now, Y/N could very clearly see the red scleras. Again, something told her it wasn't safe.
Y/N spun around, preparing to run deeper into the field of petals. Cold fingers grabbed her wrist, harshly pulling her back against someone's chest. Their arm tightened around her midsection, refusing to ease its grip.
"So beautiful, yet so fragile."
Once she opened her eyes, they glanced to the shadow on top of her. Immediately, she began to kick and hit the intruder. He was like a brick wall, unwilling to break or move.
"It isn't wise to bite the hand that feeds you," he whispered, simultaneously pinning down her arms. Y/N gathered air in her lungs, preparing to scream. Something blocked her mouth. "Nor is it kind of you to wound me."
His eyes glowed in the dark, staring down at her. It frightened Y/N even more, causing her to thrash and wiggle with all her strength.
"I protect you, watch you, and care for you," Y/N didn't know who this man, or thing was. Why did he speak as if he knew her personally? "Am I truly so terrible to gaze upon?"
He must not have wanted an answer because Y/N still had her mouth covered with cloth. She trembled terribly under his watchful gaze, eyes pricking with tears.
"Do I frighten you, Y/N?"
She rapidly nodded, desiring to jump out of the window. His grip only loosened a small fraction. If anything, he leaned in closer to her face. Y/N tried to sink into the futon, but couldn't.
All of a sudden, her arms weren't pinned down by his hands. Y/N raised them up, pushing against his chest. He knew she wanted him to move, but Kokushibo simply didn't want to. Why would he leave if he was finally getting what he wanted?
Her hand reached under the futon, nearly crushing the flower that laid flattened underneath. It's aroma hadn't withered, ready to be used. Y/N raised it up, pressing the flower against the demon's face.
The wisteria flower took effect quickly, causing the demon to leap backwards. Y/N kept it extended out in front of her like a cross, refusing to turn away.
"You stay away from me...I-I don't know who you are, but don't—"
His blade went soaring through the air, nearly slicing Y/N's fingers off. The wisteria flower was pressed into the wall, Kokushibo's blade forcing it to stay dangling.
"Beautiful things shouldn't be so violent, Y/N."
She sprinted towards her window, hands shaking as she tried to unlatch it. Before Y/N could wiggle her body outside, she was pulled back in.
"Don't scream, even if it hurts."
