A Hunt to Remember (Luigi x Reader)

Walking into the metal igloo, the inside was much bigger than you expected. Sure, the walls were made of metal, but the place still felt like a house in a way. You turned around to see Luigi in just as much amazement as you. You continue walking in as you see the professor get into a mechanical red chair with a little remote built into it on the right side. "Heh heh heh! Welcome to my lab!" The old man shouts, startling you, who was looking around. Luigi was listening to him intently. You walked up and got ready for the long array of words he was going to lay onto Luigi and maybe you. "This is another of my brilliant inventions--a portable laboratory! It's sturdy, safe, and air conditioned! I always knew I'd need this one day. Good thing I brought it along with me, right?" You knew you had no business in this conversation, so you walked around the area. 

The place was smaller than an actual house, but it still had the basic needs; A bathroom, small kitchen, no dining room but a small living room. You settle on sitting in the small living room it had. It had a red couch, a red arm chair the professor looking rug, and a bookshelf. You remembered that you had your phone in your pocket and grabbed it. Surprisingly, the place had free wifi so you were able to just sit there and look at your socials. You made sure to message all your family members a "I love you" message just incase you didn't make it out. No. . . You were going to make it out! You believe in Luigi! Way more than you should. . . After you checked your messages, you got up to look at the bookshelf. There are a few good looking books, but the rest were scientific books. You grabbed the one that looked most appealing to you, and sat back on the couch. You opened the book and read for a while. 

"(Y/n). . .(Y/n)? (Y/N)!" You gasped as you realized you fell asleep on the couch with the book on your stomach. You shot up and looked over to see Luigi, who looked rather grateful? "What's wrong? You ready to get going?" You asked. Luigi looked at you with sincere eyes for a moment. "I- I think for your safety, its better you stay here with E. Gadd. . ." You were a little taken aback from his statement, upset even. "But why!? Is it because I can't do anything!? I swear I can help! I'm not that useless I promise. . ." Luigi now looked sad when you said this. "No! Your not useless! I just care about you and I don't want you to get hurt. . ." You were barely listening anymore. The only thing in your head was your past playing like a movie. . .

"Mom. . .? Are you ok?" you asked while your mother only held onto you lightly. "Yes sweetheart, mommy's ok. . . I pro- *cough*"  Your mother was coughing up what  your family used to call it  "tomato juice". You were only 5 so you didn't know any better at this age. "Sweetheart, do something for me. . . Go to your room and never come out until you hear sirens. When you hear them, avoid your father and go outside the house and to the colors ok?" You didn't know what was going on anymore. . . "But mommy. . ." Your mom then hugged you tightly, tighter than she has ever done before. "Please! This is all I ask of you. This is my last request from you. . ." You were so clueless from what this meant. You then scurried up the stairs with your "tomato juice" shirt. That was until you heard your dad break a bottle. You hid behind a pole on the top of your stairs and watched from there. Your father came into the room, fuming. "That stupid, STUPID, child. Why. . . Why was it born!? It is the most USELESS, and WASTEFUL thing ever made and I HATE IT." He held the top part of a large alcohol bottle. The bottom of it were like millions of knives made of glass. He then walked up to your mother, holding the top part of the bottle like a knife. . . and struck it down. You only heard the screams of your mother. . . and the flesh sound of the stabs. You could only sob. . . You knew exactly who "it" was. You. The screams only got quieter with each stab. . .Until. . . Nothing. . . You rushed up the stairs when you heard your father coming up the stairs. Instead of going into your room, you ran into your mothers room. You knew your parents had "conversations" but this was too extreme. You grabbed something your mom had and hid behind the fake dresser your mom made for you. You held onto your mom's item with your life, praying to see another day. When you heard your mothers door slam open, you tried your best to stay quiet with the small sobs. You then heard the sirens. You then remembered your mothers words. "Go to your room and never come out until you hear sirens. When you hear them, avoid your father and go outside the house and to the colors ok?" You made your run for it. You ran out the house, with your mothers item. You ran past your father just barely and scrambled your way down the stairs. You opened the door and ran to the sirens. You were then comforted by people in black and your father was taken into the back of the sirens car. Next thing you know, you passed out and everything is a blur from then on. . . You still have your mother's item. The item was her bracelet you gave to her on her birthday. That (F/c) and white bracelet with her initial on it. 

(Y/n)!? (Y/n) Your crying!? You snapped back into reality as you felt your cheeks have something warm on them. You were crying. . . You wiped away your tears and looked at Luigi. He had a tear on his cheek as well. "Hey. . . its ok! I'm fine. Just a bad memory. . ." Luigi then got up and gave you a hug. You hugged back. You felt your cheeks heat up a little bit until Luigi released the hug. You got up and wiped away the rest of your tears. "Its fine, I can stay. Just stay safe." Luigi nodded as he headed out the door and to the elevator.

You were going to go into the bathroom to wash your face until- "(Y/n) Right?" You turned around and let go of the bathroom handle. "Yeah. . . That's me. . .Need something Professor?" You asked. "E.gadd is fine first off, second off, why are you still here?" You sighed. "Luigi wanted me to stay here for my safety. . ." E.gadd only grinned. "You wanted to help?" You nodded. "You want to be by his side for this?" You nod a little lighter this time. "You like him don't you?" Without thinking you nod as if he asked you a reasonable question until you replayed the question in your head. "WAIT-" E.gadd only laughed. "I knew it! You two look nice together I won't lie." You could feel your face was fully heated up. "Well anyway, I can make that happen if you want." You shot your head up to E.gadd. "Really!?" He nodded. "Thank you! Thank you!" You exclaimed as E.gadd laughed again. "Well All I need is your help and you can hopefully make it before he captures all the ghosts!" You nod and you both get straight to work.

You both work on the Poltergust for you, making it (F/c) and making sure it functions a little easier for you to work with. Soon enough E.gadd starts explaining to Luigi from the "Virtual Boo" To grab his brief case from his room, but forgot which room on floor five it was. . . E.gadd oddly decided to wait to tell Luigi but to tell you instead. "Well, the item in the brief case is what I like to call, Gooigi! Its something I've been working on for months! Lucky for you, I have an extra batch just incase I needed to use it. I'll call it: Goo-(Y/n)! It takes the form of anyone using it. And now that your Polturgust is put together now, Give it a try! As well as the blow and suck options!"  You and E.gadd head outside. He tells you to stand at a specific spot and he presses a button. You then hear a mechanical noise as he backs up one step. A cage then falls over you and you panic a little. "Its safe I promise! All you have to do is use Goo-(Y/n) and its pultergust to open the cage and get you out. Just press the red button on your pultergust and you should be able to function Goo-(Y/n)." You nod as you press the button and Goo-(Y/n) comes out of the vacuum. "Haha! It works! Now, you can squeeze through the bars and come to the gear over here." You nod as Goo-(Y/n) and head over to the gear to lift the cage. "One more thing, They aren't resistant to water or fire so be careful around those two elements." You nod once more and look down to see water puddles around the area. You go around them and lift the cage up. "You can have your consciousness back if you press the same button but on Goo-(y/n)." You press the button and you go back to your own body. You walk out of the cage and celebrate. "Yeah I did it!" You jump up and down excitedly. "Don't forget to put Goo-(Y/n) away now." You push the red button twice and Goo-(Y/n) goes back into the vacuum. "One more thing, Did you want Goo-(Y/n) to be your favorite color too?" You nod.

"Well, your all set! Go ahead and head up to the fifth floor, help you man out! I'm sure he needs it." You start blushing again. "E.gadd! We only met today!" He only looked at you with a playful look. "Whatever you say, love at first sight exists. . ." You shake your head as you walk out of the lab. "I'll see you in a bit E.gadd." He only waved as you left the lab. You started to walk towards the elevator feeling rather happy. E.gadd kind of felt like a father figure and you only met him today as well. Even if he completely made fun of you for having a tiny crush on Luigi. . .
