The day of Fiero's first day back in Storm City, he nearly ripped Hal's head off. The man made a flippant remark that their new housekeeper was working out perfectly.
"Tulla is married. She has three kids and no time to talk to you about anything. She will work starting at nine and be gone before four. Your schedules will have you out of the house during that time." Hal smiled, making Fiero growl. "Don't blame me. Trysta broke her contract. It clearly states she should not get involved with any of you."
"Easy, Hal. You are our manager for as long as the whole band agrees. Keep crossing the line, and I'll make sure you never work in Storm City ever again." Fiero snarled, storming out of the green room where they were waiting for yet another interview to start. They were sitting in the backroom of the Nightly Show with Josh Goozman. They were the musical guest of the night.
"Hey, man!" Christian Logan called as he walked out of his dressing room. Fiero jerked back. He hadn't known Christian would be on the show tonight.
"Hey, promoting your new movie?"
"Yeah, and trying to get in some good PR."
"Oh?" Fiero remembered seeing a few months back some unflattering pictures surface of a Christian drunk on the town. He remembered those days before the band stepped in and made him stop drinking.
"I opened a new club and want people to associate it with, not just the rich and famous."
"I saw a picture of you at the place." Maybe if he got Christian talking, he would share some small details about Trysta.
"Yeah? That article makes me look amazing. The girl I met that night is hard of hearing. That has made so many organizations reach out for sponsorships. She made me look amazing." Fiero's wolf let out a snarl, making Christian back up a step. "Did I say something wrong?"
"That girl, the one with the hearing aids?"
"Yeah?"
"Is. My. Mate." Christian's eyes widened, and he took three steps back with his hands up.
"I didn't know, man. Although if she is your mate, why was she out with me?"
"We had a misunderstanding. You and I will not have the same issue, right?" Fiero stalked toward the cowering man. His wolf-scented fear dripped from his pores.
"She is all yours, man."
"Good. Now, where is she?" Christian narrowed his eyes.
"You don't know?"
"Like I said, we had a misunderstanding."
"She works at the Bellview Hotel and lives in the Westchester Apartment complex. I don't know what floor. She wouldn't allow me to walk her to her door." Wrong thing to say. Fiero pinned him against the wall, shaking the pictures hanging on the wall.
"Whoa, Fiero. Let the man go," Brax said, forcing Fiero to release the actor and step back.
"He touched Trysta." Brax turned to look at Christian with a raised eyebrow.
"Didn't know she was his mate, man. I know not to get in the way of a shifter and their mate." Christian stayed against the wall. The smartest thing he'd done all conversation.
"Fiero, we are on. You need to get your wolf under control. We will deal with Trysta later." Brax pulled on his arm, making Fiero turn away from the idiot. If he tried to kiss Trysta, he was going to rip his lips off. Shaking off the anger coursing through his body, he stood with the rest. Damon and Maddox gave him looks, but he shook his head to indicate now was not the time to talk.
