The prettiest faces in Monstadt and envied by many, nicknamed the wolf and eagle, Kyler and Diluc were a damn right perfect couple. From working together every day to picnics, eating grapes and living like princes together, it felt like heaven on earth for the two. Well, at least one of them.
It all started with a glance. A gathering, and some fancy candle light. Kyler was helping his father arrange the food on the tables and lighting every single candle for the room to light up when he hastily noticed some red curls flowing in a hurry through the house. It didn't take much for the youngster's heart to hiccup. He looked away."It's just hair—" he thought.
Two minutes passed and the curls came back, this time facing him. And it wasn't just hair — it was the most beautiful boy he had ever seen.
He looked away.
His heart flinched and warmed up.
It all started with a glance. A gathering, and the son of an employee. He'd seen him before, but never in those type of clothes. Not really a suit for a ball, but close enough. Looking from the balcony, he sometimes took a look at the son, admiring his shoulders, his posture, the way he lit up candles.
It didn't take much for the youngster's heart to hiccup.
"It's just the angle — I don't like boys." he thought.
He walked past him, or rather ran. Right in that moment did the son turn his back to him, clearly flustered by something. He hid behind a pillar and sighed. Two minutes later he ran again, finally capturing an image of the son's face and-
He looked away.
His heart flinched and warmed up.
The gathering started and the villa filled with people of all ages and backgrounds. Diluc's father was busy talking business, Kaeya was nowhere to be found (probably flirting with the girls his age), so Diluc retracted to his most basic skills: drinking. He made his way to the cellar and was ready to jump right into a bottle of wine he found when he heard a unfamiliar voice speak to him.
"You better not drink that."
Turning around the boy found himself cornered by a slender boy, with broad shoulders and a white streak in his long dark hair. A bit on the shorter side, easily punchable by a boy Diluc's size.
"You're the son of that one employee aren't you?"
"Yes?" The boy responded a bit confused.
"So you're basically my employee?"
"I'm not sure that's how it works." He laughed.
Diluc wanted to be angry, but somehow his heart did not cooperate by any means. Instead of flashes of anger, his heart could not stop warming, and his cheeks couldn't stop from blushing.
"What's your name?" Diluc asked as firmly as he could.
"Kyler, master Diluc."
"You know my name?"
"Of course I know it."
On the other side, Kyler's knees were about to give in. He couldn't hide his stare and the butterflies in his stomach weren't helping his "strong figure" either.
They both looked away.
"Wanna drink this together?" Diluc gave an innocent smile.
"Oh, so you're bribing me?"
"If you wish to take it like that.."
They sat down in silence, each taking a sip from the dandelion wine.
