"I went to Peppa's and we were told you've resigned." He figured."I did." I nod.
"I'm surprised."
"I had to." I told him. "I do miss it but that's life. I've been working since I left school at sixteen and it's not like I have to. It's about time I put myself first because a job can be replaced, I can't, and my health comes first."
"You're sick?" He glimpses at me.
"No." I laughed a bit. "Naturally as a female."
"Menstrual?" And I hummed. "It's that bad?"
"It is when I'm working."
"I understand." He says. "My mom use to complain so dad made her a paid house wife."
I laughed. "That's a thing?"
"It is." He laughed. "We all benefitted as she use that money to plan our family vacations or to buy gifts."
"That's nice."
"What about your parents?" He asked and I laughed for the better. "What?"
"Nothing. It's just that my daddy tricked me and mommy into believing he's going to the states to work. Only to find out three months later that he's going to get married to his boss's daughter and they're now expecting a daughter. I'm expected to attend their wedding and babysit my half sister while they go on their honeymoon. And no, my only payment is getting my plane ticket, visa and transportation to their house paid for."
"He's an ass. No offense." He blurted.
"He is." I agreed.
"So where are you heading in this heat?"
"His twin sister's house because she's sick and he sent money for me to take care of her for a while." I informed him. "You can let me off anywhere you can."
"Why don't I take you?"
"Take me where?" I asked.
"Anywhere you want to." He shrugged.
Eyeing him, I shook my head. "You won't be able to manage this heat."
"Why not?"
"Have you ever been in this town before?" I commented, more like criticizes.
"There's a first time for everything." He remarked and I laughed.
"Okay, Mister Sabastian."
"I'm not that old." He mentioned.
"Like how old?" I whispered.
"Twenty seven."
"I'm twenty five." I told him and he smiled. "What?"
"I know."
"How?" I point in the direction of where he can go.
"I was curious of your age back at Peppa's. You look below eighteen so I had to." He began. "Omar's remark was that black don't crack."
"It don't." I laughed. "This is called Saint James Street. You're going to take this road up to Courts and down by where I'll show you the parking."
"Parking lot?"
"Yep." I nod. "You're not going to blame me for whatever it is that might happen to your Porsche in his crazy place."
"You're so considerate." I don't know if he meant it or is teasing me.
"Well, I have a good mom so yep. I'll do unto others as I would want the do unto me."
"Wear this." I threw the pants over the door of the changing room.
