-Oh, why hello, little one. What is it?
Oh no, I'm not the librarian. My name is Mr. Whisperer. Do you want to hear a story?
Thrilling! Let me get my book.
Want to listen to the tales of Perrault?
It's not that terrible. Okay, okay! No tales of Perrault.
What about this one? Love you forever.
Why? It's not horrific at all.
Yeah, you're right it is a a bit- okay not just a bit, it's really cringe.
How about that? You tell me what you want to hear.
I'm waiting....
Huh? You want me to tell you an unwritten story? Oh dear, the things I do for people.
,, On an ordinary day, when everything was normal, Aidan was going home from school. He wasn't just tired, he was utterly exhausted, having fought bravely through sleepless days and nights. His legs were like jelly, his mind was foggy, and his whole body ached with pain and fatigue. His eyes burning, and let out a deep sigh of resignation, then collapsed onto the ground.
Then he started dreaming....
He was at the same place, but it didn't feel like it. The sky was grey and cloudy, there was fog everywhere. He couldn't see any source of light. It was disturbing until he heard laughter coming from his left. While he lifted himself, he felt much stronger and more awake. He looked in the direction of the oddly happy sound, that he hadn't heard oh-so-long ago.
It was the old playground, where he used to play on with his best friend, Luke. Luke had to move out when they turned 14. He was a foster child, going from household to household in the hope that someone would accept him as their own. His opportunities in this town have quickly run out. Almost 6 years of friendship flew away like a feather in a tornado.
But... He was there.
Luke was there...
-Luke is here! Luke! LUKE!- Aiden shouted, running into his friend's arms.
He was actually there. It was no stupid game of his imagination.
Luke did not seem happy. He was smiling, but Aiden could see the tears in his eyes.
-Luke, what's wrong? Are you not happy to see me?- Aiden asked with a shaky voice.
-I am. I just didn't know this day would come that early.
-What? Luke, what are you- I- I don't understand.... Is it a bad thing we can see each other again?
-It is if we see each other here.
-Luke I- I don't feel very good. Not lung after Aiden said that Luke started smiling by heart.
-It's okay. That's a good thing. You will be better soon.
-Oh my... this is so confusing. Like where are we? Why is it good that I don't feel good? And- and what's that around your neck?
-I'll see you, hopefully not soon. Don't tell anyone we met, but re/member that we did.
-Wha-
-Doctor! Doctor! He's awake!
-What? Where am I?
-Aiden! I'm so happy you woke up.- Said Aiden's father hugging him tightly.-I'll never let you stay up this late ever again. You just fall down to the ground, face forward, out of nowhere. One of your classmates found you in front of that old playground. You were covered in blood, nose broken, half of your skin peeled off. It was horrrible.
Aiden looked in the mirror next to his hospital bed. His face was completely bandaged.
Than he finally understood everything. The weir place, his sudden strength, why he could see his friend and why was there the rope around his neck.
THE END"
-Huh? Happy end? What's after that? No, no my child, there is no after. The story ended.
Maybe if you come back tomorrow, we can have a story with a Happy end.
Okay let's make a deal. By the time you come back tomorrow night, I'll search for a happy story.
Yes, of course I promise.
Well than. See you tomorrow for another story.
Goodnight my child.
