Three Days (pt. 6) The Party

The ride to Jungkook's apartment wasn't long, but it felt awkward as he sat between the two of them, preventing Yoongi from being able to whisper anything to her. He wondered how they should behave in front of people they know. They aren't a 'couple' but they sure aren't strangers! He tries to glance over at her as Jungkook leans forward to point something out to the driver. She blushes as she smiles back at him and he knows she's wondering the same thing.

If he had more time, he'd not feel quite so awkward. If they were at the beginning of a relationship, he'd feel free to express that to others, but everyone must know he's leaving, soon. Would it embarrass her if people thought they were together, knowing how short a time they have? He smiles as he watches her, thinking how adorable she looks, shyly trying to avoid his glance and toying with the fringe at the end of her jean shorts. He knows she's nervous too.

The car pulls to a stop in front of the large luxury high rise. Jungkook steps out of the back seat, following Jihye and she pauses long enough for Yoongi to catch up to her as they walk into his building. He leans in quickly, knowing they have very little time to communicate privately.

"I'll follow your lead," he says softly, letting her know that he wants her to feel comfortable. She smiles up at him and nods.

As Jungkook gets to the elevator, he pushes the button and pauses, staring straight ahead. She reaches out and slides her hand up Yoongi's back, sending a tingle through him and making him blush. He instantly imagines her doing this, without clothing, somewhere they can be alone, and he hopes he can make that happen, and soon. He begins to giggle at the sensation, and he coughs to disguise his laugh.

Jungkook turns and eyes him suspiciously. He narrows his gaze, as if wondering if something's going on. Yoongi smiles at him and looks away, to avoid him. He looks over at Jihye who smiles boldly at him, meeting his stare and he decides there may not be anything going on between them after all.  She doesn't seem the least bit embarrassed or shy. It seems so strange to him that Yoongi would just be interested in working on music, with so little time left. He frowns as he wonders what really happened last night.

As the elevator stops on his floor, they can all hear the music. Jungkook bursts through his own apartment door to greet several people he invited, who are already controlling the lights and the music. He bounds in with high energy and immediately begins moving to the song blaring over his speakers. He looks ready for a long night. Yoongi and Jihye enter behind him, trying to sneak in unobserved, but several people turn to them and he smiles awkwardly at the gathering of people in the spacious living room.  It's definitely more than the 8-10 people Jungkook suggested would be there. Yoongi wants to lead her to a quiet corner, away from the loud shouts and drunken singing.

He reaches out his hand to touch her arm but before he can, someone hands him a glass and someone else comes up to greet Jihye, pulling her away from him before he can reach her. He sees her disappear in a circle of friends. He nods to the man near him in thanks for the drink and raises the glass to take a sip.

"Hyung!" he's startled by a familiar voice. He looks up to see Jimin walking towards him with a glass in one hand and a pretty girl under his arm. She seems to know instinctively to step away from them as he moves closer. Yoongi smiles at him.

"Jiminah, you're here," he states the obvious in surprise. Jimin moves his glass aside to hug him. He puts his arm over his shoulder and ushers him back toward the kitchen. Yoongi glances over his shoulder, keeping track of where she is in the room and Jimin notices. He turns and looks back to see who he might have been looking at.

"What are you drinking?" He sits across from Yoongi at a tall barstool at the counter. Yoongi looks down at the glass in his hands and swirls it, unsure.
