Flick! Flick! Flick!
Arranging each paper in order. Sci was sorting out the papers of their recent research investigation about embryology of some certain monsters. Unexpectedly, Sci received a harsh blow to the head. He fell down, scattering the papers he sorted earlier. Dust appeared in his vision before everything went dark.
When Sci slowly gained his consciousness, his head was aching from recent assault. A snap of a finger quickly recovers his consciousness. When Sci looked around, his eyes widened to see the least person he expected to see after he fainted. It was Nightmare, along with his goons and.... Error..?
Sci looked around. He was not in some Au but a galaxy of some sort? In a far distance, the closest Aus look like a globe surrounded by a colorful mist and in the middle was the scene playing in that Au right now.
"Hey.... Are you done looking around..?"
Sci's head sharply turn towards the owner of the deep voice.
"You won't get hurt if you cooperate with me..."
"Wha.... What...do you want...from...me...?" Sci's voice almost breaking like he was being choke by the atmosphere that Nightmare gives off.
Nightmare snickers. "You know... Error found something interesting the other day. And as much as I love to partake an investigation about it, unfortunately, some bastards are keeping me from doing so. I can't rely this task on my men so I decided to chose a Sans like you... You seem to be very fit for this..."
"....what...is..it....?" Sci asked out of curiosity. Though preferably, he would refused but he can't help but feel curious.
"Oh~ you were just looking around when you gain conscious and yet you never saw what it is despite how obvious and big it is~?" Nightmare mocked. "Hmm~... Oh right~ you don't have your glasses on...."
Nightmare started at Dust's direction then tilting his head towards Sci. Dust fish something out of his pocket. He then threw the object to Sci. Sci barely catches it, it was his red glasses.
"There. Hopefully, you'll notice it by now. Look this way..." Nightmare's voice got a little deeper at the last sentence.
Sci had also finally notice that they were in a floating rock or land. Looking at the direction where Nightmare pointed, Sci's eyes widen. He saw a bunch if portals with kinds of color, shape, and uniqueness. There was also a cloud that almost resembles a star cloud (a star cloud is composed of elements need for star formation or creation), it has many colors but it isn't making any star.
"What is this place...?" Sci was in awe of this strange place. That fear he had earlier subsided and replaced with amazement.
"Strong desires really makes you immune to my presence." Nightmare wasn't even mad about Sci forgetting to acknowledge his presence. He, too, was deeply amazed about this place. "Now listen well..... As I've mentioned earlier, I want someone to investigate this for me... And I want you to do it...I can give you the resources you need for this and also reward you greatly~. I just have this one condition. DON'T. LET. ANYONE. KNOWS. ABOUT. THIS."
"O-oh..." Sci uttered. Taking a gulp.
Nightmare's expression was a sweet smile with sinister intentions. "As for the Star sanses questioning your busy schedule from now on, that's on you to find an excuse for them. I'll make sure to keep then busy so you could conduct the research without any disturbance ~"
With that they all left except for Dust, who grabbed Sci by the arm and take him back to his Au. Before leaving, Dust handed Sci a root.
"Boss said that's your reward for cooperating with us. He will give you more if you work diligently." Dust said nonchalantly.
When he left, Sci look at the root Dust gave him. "What's so special about this? Hmm...? I'll ask Toriel later." He muttered to himself. His eyes fixed to the table, everything was neatly placed. "Woah....did they clean up the papers and arrange them after knocking me out. That's a nice gesture from them...." Sci thought. Perhaps, these dangerous skeletons has some manners.

Sci was back to his normal life, with a few changes of his schedule. As he was, making an elixer for the star sanses (all three were present in his lab right now). Dream's attention was caught by the root that was in a container. He remembered something about it.
As the star sanses were about to leave, Dream spoke "I'll catch up with you guys... This will be real quick!". Ink and Blue bid farewell before hoping into a portal. Once they left, Dream turned around to face Sci.
" uhh...Sci... Where'd you get this....?" Dream pointed at the root in a jar. The question was out of nowhere to Sci.
"Oh..this... Someone gifted it to me. I don't know what its for... Umm...are you interested in it..?" Sci replied maintaining a composed posture since Dream's random question bothered him a little bit.
"Aahhh... Is that so... Umm...well...yes it reminded me of something." Dream muttered.
"Do you want it?" Sci asked. it was a direct question since he notice how Dream was so interested in the root.
"What! No! I wouldn't. Somebody gave it to you so it means its something special." Dream said nervously. "I'm sorry. It just reminded me of my brother..."
"Your brother..?" Sci tilted his head. Dream doesn't open to people at least that's what Sci observed during their interactions.
"Umm.. Well, yes... I remember he made me chew on this when I got sick, he said its a herb he collected in the forest near our home in dreamtale. He told me it was a rare herb and he learned it from the books he read. I feel better the next day...." Dream smiled bittersweetly. "Well I should get going. Thank you for your time Sci!" Dream's demeanor changed back to an energetic one.
Sci picked up the jar containing the root. "So this is a herb? It must be very precious for it to be my payment for working with him. I'll study this when I have some free time..."

"Aaahhh!!!!" A Rabbit montser screamed as he was thrown into one of the large portals of the unknown place. He had a small circular camera on his shirt. He was the chosen test subject. Sci felt a bit guilty and terrified. They've could have use a robot or a probe for this but it seems Nightmare prefers live subjects for this.
On the floating rock they stand on, a small laboratory setting is set up minus the chemicals. Sci look at the screen in which is connect to the camera that the rabbit monster was wearing earlier. The screen was pitch black, nothing seems to show up.
Sometime later, the computer let out a noise.

The screen should the POV of the rabbit monster. He was in the middle of the ocean, standing on a boulder. There were no islands to be seen, no boats, no nothing. Just him, all alone.
"Hmm~ interesting.... He seems to be in a different Au." Nightmare said while looking at the screen. "Hmp.. Too bad we only got one test subject. I think we'll bring more next time. You can leave now."
Nightmare opened a portal back to Sci's Au.
