Chapter 1
junkyard meet
I was walking through the junkyard when the snow started falling.
it was cold.
it was dry.
and alittle windy.
i was looking for some deceint pieces of salvage. me old car was in need of some fixing up.
it was getting dark. and my lantern only had an efective range of about 10 feet.
i thought i was prepared. i knew i would be spending alot of time in the unlit section at the back of the lot.
the Houndoom that i saw was not a surprise. i had seen the glowing red eyes in the half light ever since twilight started.
i didnt try to aproach.
i couldent try to capture the thing if i wanted to. i didnt have those kinds of equiptment with me.
my mostly empty bag was for parts.
no items. no pokeballs. just a med kit, in case i cut myself on a sharp piece of metal. and a meals' worth of non parishable food.
i had been searching for hours. that food was sounding great.
i dug out a hand full of the hommade trailmix and started munching on them one at a time.
i needed to pack up and drive home. well TRY to get home. that damned car wont start half the time. and when it does its only after numerous tries.
this is my fourth attempt to find servicable parts from a like model vehicle in a week.
im going to have to go back to taking my bike. or good old fastion walking.
not a preasent idea when its going to reach single digits at night.
i thanked the owner on my way out.
she smiled and told me to keep warm.
i got to my car and started the thing. eccept that the engine wouldent turn over.
the battery was full so i started the heated seats.
i spent some time under the hood. my limited expirence indicated that there were many small things wrong.
it was an old car. lots of wear and tear.
the wind had picked up. so i dug the winter gear out of my bag. gloves and a fleece hood.
while i was in my bag i pulled out some trail mix. my emergency rations. dryed fruits. nuts. some cheesy crackers. and one of the protien bars.
i was munching on the bar. carful to keep my footing on the uncertain terrain.
and the houndoom was standing at the drivers side door.
it was watching me.
like it probily had been all day.
it was BIG. but thin. i could see ribs. corded muscles were also present.
i didnt move for a second.
then the wind blew particularly hard.
minding my footing on the snow\ ice. i walked slowly too the door.
when i opened it. the devil dog jumped in.
it kinda cuddled up to the passenger seat like it had'nt meen Warm in a while.
so i turned the passenger seats heating pad all the way up.
