Hayah POV
We were a little late to the designer's studio and I could feel Fatima's eyes on me, I didn't dare to look up, because I knew she would attempt to tease me and after that car ride, I knew I was vulnerable to the teasing.
Thankfully, the female bridal designers were on the ground floor whereas the males were on the first floor, so I didn't have to face Saleh for a while. We immediately got to work, selecting a walima bridal for Fatima and well suitable sister of the groom dresses. I didn't have to worry about my clothes because I had already gotten them all made from Aylaar. I was just here today to support Fatima.
About one hour later, Fatima had shortlisted nine seven dresses and we had two more hours to decide "the one". We sat down over there discussing the dresses with the head designer when someone's phone rang, it was Ali bhai's sister's phone. She was inside the try room, changing so I went there and held out her phone to her. I was waiting for her outside the door, so I could take back her phone when she said,
"Hayah baji, can you do me a favor?", Alina asked
"Yeah, what's up?", I replied
"Ammi wants to talk to Ali bhai and he's not picking up his phone, can you please go give him my phone upstairs?", she politely asked me
"Oh uhm-", I didn't want to say no, but neither did I want to say yes
"I would've gone, but I'm not even fully dressed right now", she said laughing
Nodding my head, not that she could see it though, I took the phone from her hand, and made my way upstairs, silently praying that I see Ali bhai the second I go up there. Instead, I saw the person I was avoiding.
He looked effortlessly dreamy, in a black shalwar kameez, that fitted him just perfectly. I was at a loss of words, I didn't know what to say. It was the first time I was seeing him in shalwar kameez and I felt like I couldn't take my eyes off him. I regained my senses after I heard someone clear their throat and say something. Horrified I looked up to see that he was looking down at me with a wide smirk.
Saleh POV
I had back to back online meetings all night and I was so exhausted. Nowadays, my entire routine is working and well, thinking about a certain someone. I knew it was going to be hard juggling office work all the way from Pakistan due to the time zones, but for Ali's sake, I did it anyway.
I slept somewhere around 6am and I was woken up a few hours later, by none other than Ali, urging me to get up as we had to go shopping for his wedding events,
"Yara, wake up!", Ali tried to wake me up
"I don't want to", I said pulling the pillow over my eyes, I was way too exhausted to deal with this
"How will you buy clothes for the wedding then?", Ali tried convincing me
"Buy them for me", I said and then tried shooing him away with my hand
"You and I both know that I can't, cause you need to get your clothes custom made", he said rolling his eyes, which was true. I knew I had to get up now, so I rolled around in bed stretching
"Khotay jaldi utho, we have to go pick up the girls as well", I heard Ali say
I sprung up, sitting straight on the bed, immediately questioning him
"Konsi girls?"
"Oho Romeo sahab iss baat pay uth gaye, I'm talking about Fatima and her friend you couldn't stop staring at the other day", he tried teasing me
I threw my pillow at him but to my dismay, he caught it, and kept looking at me wiggling his eyebrows. I reached out to the floor to grab my chappal when he rushed out of the room. Sighing at my best friend's antics, I got out of bed and took a shower, quickly got dressed and sprayed on my favorite cologne, I was ready to go.
Although, we had a driver assigned, I insisted on driving myself whereas Ali came with the driver. Following Ali's car, we stopped outside a beautiful house, it wasn't Fatima bhabi's house but upon further inquiry I was pleased to know that it was Hayah's. The little minx was in for a surprise. I rang the doorbell and aunty opened the door and the way she was surprised to see me, I could tell that Hayah had not mentioned our little meeting at bhabi's place. I was speaking to aunty, she kept inviting me inside for tea but honestly, we were running late for our appointment at the designer.
Suddenly, the main door opened and it was as if the entire world stopped, out walked Hayah Khan in all of her glory, looking as gorgeous as ever. I just couldn't stop looking at her, but the second I realized that I may be checking her out, I lowered my gaze. Bidding farewell to aunty, we divided into two cars, and to my farsight and my pleasure, Hayah had to sit in my car. However, she decided to tease me by sitting in the backseat.
Anyway, after our usual bickering, that I oh so enjoyed and missed, she came and sat next to me on the passenger seat. Throughout the drive to the designer she remained quiet, I looked over at her, but her gaze was either fixed outside the window or she'd look back and speak to Misha, Ali's niece. She hasn't changed, she still tries to act all nonchalant around me, when I know I affect her.
Once we got to the designer, she wasted no time and rushed out of the car and straight into the studio, silently laughing at her antics, I walked upstairs to the male's section and started trying on different clothes whilst helping Ali simultaneously choosing his clothes. An hour later, I was tired and I just wanted to go sleep, but Ali was still not sure about his clothes. I stood in front of the dressing room, typing an email to my PA, when I heard some shuffling behind me, I turned around to see Hayah standing there in a trance looking at me. Smirking, I walked up to her and surprisingly, she didn't break out of it
"Like what you see Princess?", I said, after I didn't receive a response, I then, cleared my throat
"Huh what?", she said
Looking effortlessly adorable as she connected the dots and then immediately sprung backwards, she got herself back into composure.
"Where's Ali bhai?", she said completely disregarding my teasing and looking at the mannequin beside me as if its the most interesting thing in the world
"Ali's changing, and idhar dekh lou Hayah, main kha nahin jaon ga tumhe", I replied
She immediately started blushing but immediately turned her back towards me, thinking I won't notice her being all beetroot red.
"Tell Ali bhai to call his mom, she called Alina downstairs", whisper yelling at me, she went back downstairs
Unconsciously, a wide grin spread across my face as I watched her figure go back downstairs again, I turned around, not noticing my best friend staring at me,
"Baat chalaoun tum donon ki", he asked in teasing manner
"Abay khoteya", I said not expecting him to say that
"What? I've seen the way you like at each other, meri mano, you both will look great together, I mean just think about it, Mrs. Hayah Saleh Rehman", Ali tried justifying.
I noticed the glint of mischievousness in his eyes, smacking my hand on the back of his head, I decided to ignore his comment and say,
"Call your mom"
And I walked into the dressing room to change out of this shalwar kameez. Our names sounded so good together, one thing was for sure, I wasn't gonna be able to get the name Mrs. Hayah Saleh Rehman out of my mind anytime soon.
