Scaramouche chuckles, looking towards my direction.
"Oh god, you're right. Haha, at least I'm dying with you."
I reply, tearing up.
"So I guess this is time I tell you?"
He looks confused, so I try not to wallow in regret before speaking.
"I love you."

"I wish you had told me sooner. I feel the same way..."
His tone and grammar became more polite, and his soft hand held the grasp of mine.
"Maybe if the world wasn't
falling apart."
I giggle. How could I be dumb enough to not realize?
"Jeez, I'm sugarcoating it. My love for you is way more complicated than just a simple 'I love you,' Scara."
He peers at me, but smiles slightly, even if its the closest to a smile I could get from him.
"I love you too, Aether."
... "We were stupid for our deception."
I smile, as we close our eyes as our last goodbye to each other.
