SUMMER OF 2023

"How do I look?" Yi-jae asked her kids.

Mun-hee, now 15 years old, smiled at her mother. "Amazing. He's going to love it."

"You look like a princess, Mummy!" Kyung-sam grinned.

Over the last 7 months, Yi-jae and her two kids had settled into their new life in the UK very nicely.

They were living in a nice four-bedroom house in Kingston Upon Thames.

The kids were excelling well in their English, both writing and speaking. Kyung-sam had even begun to play music with other students in his school.

Jae-jun had been declared missing by Korean authorities almost 6 months ago, but Yi-jae had given her statement and alibi (was flying a plane to the UK with her family before Jae-jun's disappearance was reported), along with showing her private divorce from Jae-jun and the report of him attacking her son's teacher.

It was enough to prove her innocence and even paint an image that Yi-jae was fleeing her husband to keep herself and her kids safe... which wasn't far from the truth.

Yi-jae was aware that Jae-jun would eventually be declared dead after 7 years, and she knew what would happen from it.

Her kids would both receive things from their father; Kyung-sam would most likely be given his father's golf centre and Mun-hee would get his Siesta shop, which Yi-jae was making sure stuck around until Mun-hee turned 18.

Mun-hee planned to head back to Korea to study fashion and textiles, and then when she turned 21, she'd reopen Siesta as her own.

"Alright, I'm going to get going," Yi-jae announced. "Both of you behave, please. I'd prefer the house was as clean as it is now."

"Mum, we're going to be fine," Mun-hee sighed.

Yi-jae felt a small pang in her heart; her kids were growing up. She wished the world could stop for just a little bit, but no one could ever make that happen.

Yi-jae just nodded with a smile, grabbing her coat and bag. She turned to face her kids as she opened the door.

"I'll be back by 10:30 pm," she said.

Then she closed the door and began heading to her car.

The car park surrounding the restaurant was big, but not as big as other restaurant parking that Yi-jae had been to back in South Korea.

Yi-jae almost laughed at how she was comparing another random thing in the UK to what it was like back in South Korea. She was definitely going to move back to that country after the kids grew up, but for now, they were safest in the UK.

Away from their father's trouble. And away from their father's friends.

Yi-jae approached the restaurant, finding her date by the entrance, who smiled upon seeing her.

She approached him, "I'm not late, am I?"

"Right on time," Do-yeong smiled after checking his watch. "I guess I was early."

"Ye-sol wanted you to get going, didn't she?" Yi-jae chuckled.

"She's thrilled I'm out and about again," Do-yeong nodded. "Wanted me to be there beforehand, as princes are on time, according to her."

"What a coincidence, Kyung-sam said I look like a princess," Yi-jae hummed.

Do-yeong's smile seemed to grow, "Well, you do look amazing tonight. Nice to see we never lost our touch."

Yi-jae's smile grew in return, before holding out her hand. "Shall we start this night off? I told the kids I'd be back by 10:30."

"We shall," Do-yeong responded, taking Yi-jae's hand and leading her into the restaurant.

Despite this being their first date, Yi-jae and Do-yeong had a small feeling (small but strangely powerful) feeling this first date would grow into many dates. Then into a proposal. Then into a marriage. And then bringing both of their broken families together.

Or maybe it wouldn't work. Maybe they'd decide to remain friends. And then date other people, marry other people and fix their broken families with others--

No... Yi-jae believed this would end well.

And she believed Do-yeong thought that too.

And they could thank Dong-eun for this relationship they'd begun.

Mills says!

And that's the end of this fanfic. Thank you to those who have read and loved this fanfic.

I originally wrote this as what I would've done during this series had I been there. I myself was bullied a lot when I was at school (nothing like Dong-eun) and I remember a lot of how I felt and how I wanted to take revenge on my bullies. I have seen none of them in years and I hope I never do, to be honest.

I am happier now and I will always step forward when I see another person being bullied. I refuse to let someone else experience and feel what I have felt, especially if I can stop that from happening.

Anyway, thank you again for reading this fanfic xxx
