It started with Aphrodite.
She was raging at Hephaestus, who had trapped her in yet another trap with Ares.
"Why can't you accept that I DON'T LOVE YOU! And I never will! I love Ares!" She screamed at him.
It wasn't entirely true. She didn't love Ares. But she didn't love Hephaestus either. Has she ever loved anyone? She was the Goddess of Love, but she felt sometimes like she couldn't truly love.
What an awful thing to not be able to love.
She had to know.
"Hera! Hera!"
"What, Aphrodite?" Hera said, not stopping her stride through the halls of the palace.
"I need your help." Hera stopped in her tracks.
"My help?" Hera said, thinking quickly. If Aphrodite owed her a favor... well that opened all kinds of doors. "What do you need my help with?"
"I've been thinking... humans never know if or when they meet their soulmates, so they marry the wrong person and divorce rates get higher and higher. It weakens us both." Aphrodite said and Hera nodded.
Everything she was saying was true. Supposedly everyone had a soulmate, but there was no way to know who it was.
"How do you expect we fix it?"
"We need to talk to Hecate."
"You want me to do what?" Hecate drawled, looking at the two Goddesses in confusion.
"Use a magic spell or an artifact or something, to write the names of everyone's soulmates on their wrists. Can you not do it?" Aphrodite asked.
"...of course I can do it. Why would I though?"
"Because we'll both owe you a favor," Hera said, looking down her nose at the Goddess. "And a favor from the Queen of Olympus is a powerful one."
"That is true," Hecate said, considering it. "...mmm why not? But you'll have to wait a few days. I'll Iris Message you when I'm done. Now out, so I can work."
She ushered them out, before sitting down and getting to work.
Aphrodite had just gotten an Iris Message from Hecate. She was about to cast the spell. Soon she would know. Soon she could be happy, if everything went right.
She suddenly keeled over in a great amount of pain, not knowing that every being in the world was currently doing the same. She clutched her right wrist, letting out a small scream, before suddenly it stopped.
She looked down at the word on her wrist.
Andromeda Jackson
Well then. It looks like she does have a soulmate.
Perfect.
