Vegas/Pete
If this world is wearing thin
And you're thinking of escape
I'll go anywhere with you
Just wrap me up in chains
But if you try to go alone
Don't think I'll understandMoving stealthily through the forest, Vegas leads his men to attack the current caravan with what is supposed to be containing the weapon their rival kingdom is planning to use to attack them. The moment the family caught wind of the usurper's plan to attack nearby kingdoms, the Theerapanyakul clan made the decision that offense would be the best way to handle the situation. With a smile on his face, Vegas gladly presented his plan which the whole family agreed to by the end of the night.
One by one his knights take position and on his command, they attack. The guards of the caravan were too surprised when the onslaught started and within minutes, everyone was dead. Vegas gave orders to have the corpses on a pile and to have the leader's head decapitated before tying the severed head to one of the horses that would be brought to the edge of the town by one of Vegas's men before getting released there to be brought to the enemy's palace. Subtlety never really was Vegas' best quality.
The general orders the rest to be on standby with him as he approaches the locked doors of the windowless carriage. One of the younger soldiers gave him a key that was on the leader's neck. Once again, he looks around making sure everyone is ready for what is inside the carriage.
With a quick pull, he opens the door and someone immediately lunges at him. In a quick snap, his knights react and try to pry the person off their general. When the initial shock has been off his system, Vegas is able to finally see the person and hears his cry.
"Please, please, just kill me!" The boy cries as he is still being held back by two of his knights. Vegas looks at him and frowns at the request, until he sees his white clothes covered in blood splatters, hands bound together and his ankle chained to the carriage.
"Hey, hey, look at me." Vegas commands, walking to where the man is being held. "Look at me." He says again, more sternly this time and he signals for the two to let him be, making the man sag in his arm and they end up on the ground. The man is still crying and begging to be killed and Vegas is trying his best to hush him, holding him as he used to hold his frightened brother after a nightmare. "We're not here to kill you, alright?"
Vegas looks at what's inside the carriage before signaling the other men in his team to do an inventory before transferring the items to their own carriage they hid nearby.
"General?" The same young soldier calls him. Vegas looks at the set of keys in his hand and gives a nod when the young soldier points at the lock binding the chain around the man's ankle. "Hello." He greets the weeping boy in his leader's arm. "My name is Ken." The soldier tries to smile at him, but the stranger only hides his face on Vegas's neck. "Let me just try these keys to see if we can unlock your bounds, alright?" When he didn't get an answer from the prisoner, Ken looked at Vegas once again and after receiving a nod of confirmation, he was able to try the keys, however both are not unlocked although one of the keys seems to be a match.
Vegas takes the keys from Ken and tries them himself; with one try on both locks, he was able to unbound the stranger's hands and ankle.
Moments have passed and Vegas lets his men complete their tasks before trying to talk to the prisoner again. This time, the boy's free hands are gripping whatever it could hold onto on Vegas' armor. The crying had died town to sniffling, but he's still unmoving in the general's arm.
"Hey," Vegas calls to him, his own hand moving to hold the boy's head to gently make him look at him. "I need to talk to you, okay? None of us is going to hurt you unless you give us reason to."
