EarthFirst person POV
It's been 97 years since a nuclear apocalypse killed everyone on earth. Leaving the planet simmering in radiation.
Fortunately there were survivors, 12 nations had operational space stations at the time of the bombs. There is now only the ark. One station forged from the many.
We're told the earth needs another hundred years to become survivable again. Four more space locked generations and man can go home.
Back to the ground, the ground, that's the dream. This is reality.
"Prisoner 287 face the wall and put your hands up"
Reality is shit.
I did as they told me, slowly raising my hands up, i glanced behind me and saw them pulling wristbands out of a box. The only think they let me keep in the dumb cell was a calendar. Slowly torturing her as the days went by, creeping up on her birthday.
"No. I turn eighteen tomorrow. It's not my time!" I defended, franticly begging to stay alive.
The guards didn't care.
They approached me with the bracelet in one of their hands and a baton in the other guards hand.
One of them clasped the bracelet around my wrist then the two of them dragged me out of my cell.
Outside my cell there were about 100 other prisoners being taken out of their cells. All but one, who was being carried on a stretcher.
They forced me through the hallways of the ark then down on a ship.
They forced me down into a seat and strapped me in. I glanced around the ship and saw people I recognized.
Before i could freak out too much the chancellors voice and face came up on a tv.
He spewed some shit about us being sent to earth. The radioactive planet. They should have just floated us.
Most people were screaming, or had a scared look on their face. Then the ship started shaking, it became hot, fast. Outside the windows i could see the ship covered in flames.
Before i knew it we were jolted back. The people who had undone their seatbelts in the peace were now being thrown around the drop-ship. They smashed against the walls and ceiling.
The lights were smashing, people were screaming out of terror.
As soon as we landed people immediately undid their seatbelts.
There was a voice on the upstairs of the drop-ship.
"We can't go out! The air could be toxic!" It was Clarke Griffin. Her father was floated and she was arrested for helping him.
I undid my seatbelt and walked towards the doors. A guard stepped in front of me. He couldn't have been much older then me either. He didn't look old enough to be a guard though.
"No one's leaving. Yet."
I scoffed and moved back into the crowd.
