CHAPTER 2

I sighed, Me and Jules are now at what seems like a forest.

"Seems like we're sent to a gate,"

Jules softly said with an excited expression, I merely nodded along: "This gate doesn't feel normal, Be careful. Especially this is your first time coming out from the gate."

"What task did they assigned you earlier?" I asked Jules as i looked at her over my shoulders, My guard was still undoubtedly up.

"Making sure that nothing happens to a pack near here, I'm guessing yours is keeping watch on the gate?"

"Yeah, This gate feels like it's about to be opened soon though.. Maybe something is attracting it from the under realm..." I said absentmindedly: Too focused on my own thoughts.

"Do you think we should find the pack near here brother?" Jules asked and soon added: "Staying there can be killing two birds with one stone,"

"It'll be risky, But I'll have to agree.."

Crossing my arms together as i looked at jules, Staying in the pack? I'm not sure why but something feels of...

"We should stay in the outer of the pack, We'll surely get mistaken for rouges if we directly stay there."

I said after thinking for a while, Jules smiled brightly. "Brother is really the best at thinking things trough!"

I grinned, "You just doesn't use this," with that i pointed at her head: "Instead you use your heart more." jules face pouted, I just chuckled.

"Meanie."

I smiled and ignored her words.

"Come on Sis, It's almost gonna be dark soon and we still need to go near the pack. Let's just find the gate tomorrow,"

I said as i patted her head and ruffled her hair, "Xander your ruining my hair again!"

"Morning sis,"

I said as i walked down the stairs, It's been a week and we settled down near in-between the two areas.

We had already found the portal and every morning I'd go there to make sure nothing's wrong and reinforce the spell as much as to prevent the creatures from the under realm escaping..

"Morning Brother,"

She greeted back happily, I just smiled and went ahead to the kitchen, Jules was trying to fry the fish but she seems to be having a hard time. I sighed and shook my head slightly, "Need help?"

Jules only smiled sheepishly: "Yeah.."

I was already wearing my armour and my sword was placed in my waist, I took over cooking the rest of the breakfast and Jules decided to just be the one to prepare the table in the meantime.

Once i was finnally done i placed everything in the dinning table.

"Thanks Xander,"

I smiled back at her, "No problem, Next time tell me if you need help with cooking,"

She just nodded and sat down, I did the same and we both started eating.

Both of us chatted while eating and the atmosphere was really lively just like back home.

"Your going out early?"

Jules asked and i just nodded: "Just to make sure everything is fine in the gate, Can't let our guards down too much."

Jules smiled as the food was still in her mouth it made her cheeks puffed out looking really adorable!

If she heard my thoughts then I'm surely gonna be dead..
